Sometimes, when you log out of a level, your toolbar at the bottom still remains. So, you could check your smilies while choosing levels. However, when you click "go to lobby" or "send", the game acts as if you had just logged out from a level. When you click minimap button, nothing appears. This toolbar stays even after you go into another level and log out.
Yep. Annoying, but kinda fun.
