Can't change avatar?

I just joined the forums about half an hour ago, and I made a quick .png and a .gif for an avatar and neither will work and it says it's an invalid file type, and needs to be a .gif or a .png or a .jp(e)g and under 20kb.
The .png and .gif are both 90x90 and under TEN kb, so why isn't it working? :c

Are you sure it's under 10 kb? It doesn't look like it

Yeah, i had that same problem. Like, i was trying to change my sig, and if its to big, it simply will not change..

Where are you seeing that at? They both are under 10kb both on imgur and on my computer.

Click the box before Use avatar, maybe thats it? Just a suggestion.

It won't let me upload the avatar, getting it to show up [if it did upload correctly] wouldn't be a problem.

Oh, so that wasn't the problem, maybe cut 1x1 off the avatar?

I made a 50x50 'temp' avatar, hoping it would work, but it didn't, so it's not a size problem.
