Reputation is something you can change to (almost) any user if he/she made something that you think is epic, nice, whatever OR if he/she made something that you think is bad, mean, whatever. For some, rep means nothing, for others, it's entire life. See Chewy, for example, he's a mod, and he has -443 rep. For him, rep means nothing. There are some other people who put "+rep if this post was useful" or whatever in their sig/post/avatar/whatever.

Well I mean, that's what it's supposed to mean. The purpose of the reputation is supposed to show how good or bad someone is. I'm not saying that's how you should judge someone though. Just because someone has a higher reputation does not necessarily mean they are a better person.

Don't judge someone by the amount of rep someone has. Click on the word "reputation" to look at the reasons why he or she was +repped it -repped. Then you can judge people. Here's some examples:

Chewy: Chewy's rep is so low because he wants it to be, not because no one likes him.

Takoman02: Half of Tako's rep has been accumulated through changing his sig to different fun facts. For the record, I really like the fun fact thing, so he deserves the rep.

Supadorf24: Apart from being so awesome, three of Supa's reps are from Different55's random rep rampages.

Post count isn't a good way to judge people, either. I have the most posts on the entire website of forumify.... that doesn't mean I'm better or more experienced or anything ridiculous like that.

Basically, don't judge a book by it's cover. Flare used to have the most posts, but they were mostly in Forum Games. I post in forum games now and then, but most of my posts are everywhere else.

I see you took 'I have more posts than anyone on forumify' off your sig, different.
It can be a bit important and/or useful to look at someone's -reps, and what they were for. This can give info about a person's personality if you don't know them very well.

He has over -400 rep because he has asked to people to give it to him.   The amount of rep that someone has is basically entirely meaningless.   The only thing that it can be used for is to prejudge someone based on a number, but it is noway accurate.   I only have 6 rep, but that doesn't mean that you are better than me because yours is 34.
