Is it just me or are less people posting on the forum? Maybe this has to do with the event...

Same. There's now 48.3 average posts per hour and the total number of posts has increased by around 1000 over the last few days.

If anything, the contest will increase the amount of players posting in the forums.

I definitely noticed the spike on the day of the EC contest. People were posting at 12:00.
