Because it's annoying, takes up space, and shows that you are too lazy to use the 'Edit' function.

Lol, a good way to bump is to hit edit on your last post, copy everything, then delete the post entirely. Then paste everything back and post it.

You know, I have never thought of doing that, that's a pretty good idea.   But yeah, the question has been answered already, so there isn't much more to be said on it.

Well, if you weren't necessarily replying to someone, you could do something rather like this.
