Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Forum Chat Privacy Issue

I refuse to use the new forum chat until this issue is dealt with. Whenever someone (including me) enters or leaves the chat, it shows where they're from, or at least who their web host is. Well, I'm probably failing at the terminology here, but it shows something next to your name when you join, and it's really bugging me. Privacy is important to me. I'm sure Cyclone can fix it. If not, the chat is just too inaccessible for me.

EDIT: 700th post.

Re: Forum Chat Privacy Issue

you will be glad to know that rizon masks your real host and only shows the rather unspecific providername.
of course you can also use the free vhost service on rizon if you are registered and identified.

check out mine: [email protected]

Re: Forum Chat Privacy Issue

My provider name is rather specific, then.

Re: Forum Chat Privacy Issue

Use the /msg hostserv help command and follow the instructions to enable a custom hostname. This will then replace and mask your legitimate host.

For example, you could register a hostname of supadorf24@super.dorf, or something similar, and not have to worry about it again. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

are you talking about a hostmask? Those are encrypted information.

Re: Forum Chat Privacy Issue

I don't know. Every time I joined or left the room, it would show my service provider or hostname or whatever and mine is really specific because it showed what state I live in. BillyP helped me fix it, now, and I've changed it to something less conspicuous. I'm a privacy nut, which is a good thing in my opinion.
