Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I'd like to know something. How much of us only do 'show new posts since last visit'?
I don't even go into the categories/subcategories anymore, I just press that button and ctrl+click (open in new tab) the ones that interest me, a page at a time. Is there anyone else out there that does this?
Here's a counter. I'll edit my post with roman numerals whenever I get some replies
Only do this (show new posts)
VII
This (show new posts) and go into categories

Only go into categories

I do this and go into categories.
I usually open whatever I find interesting in a new tab, but I hardly post anywhere.
Obligatory piece of text placed here forcing you to load an extra 100 bytes of data per post I make.

I just go to genera discussion and off topic most of the time.
And I hit 'mark all posts as read' a lot, so I know when there's new posts.
PS: middle click does the same as ctrl+click, and is easier.
Almost only "Show new posts".

That's what I meant as what I do. I show new posts and open interesting topics in a new tab

Wow, I left this alone for quite a while 1xd1
Well, updated to this point.

I use Show New Posts and I also go into categories that appeal to me.
Show new posts unless I accidentally hit Mark All as Read. :/

I don't use it much because it's not a true "unread by you" feature. Posts don't seem to disappear from the list after you've read them.
