we need to have a few methods of preventing mass spam on the forums. we could limit the number of smileys to get rid of posts like these. :O:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o . we also need to filter how often the same thing is said multiple times like during a troll raid when you get something like. SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM. we should use it to cut down on some of the spam.

maybe.... or.... a page that only has a replica of the reply to topic box. Inside you can type all you want, but it's non-functioning. You hit submit and it redirects to the forum index.

I see some flaws in this. Just like all filters,it could be easy to pass by it. Someone could say:

Bla blah bla1 bl3a blahh blarg blar34 bla.

It has to be a filter that blocks that word and its variations form being abused.

It used to be 1 minute, believe me. I think it should be 1 minute again. That will stop 30 seconds of more spam.

Also, I noticed that caution warning that got put in. That made me actually place a ----NEW POST---- sign onto the current post and the contents under that NEW POST sign.

Good idea... Maybe make it redirect to the topic like normal and make it look like the post is there to the spammer but not to the others?
