Proxy Issue

Mmkay. I'm kinda getting annoyed at getting banned for proxies when I haven't used one for this site in my life. I don't know what's up, but I've been banned twice for that. I'd like to know how the system operates so I know what I'm doing wrong. I'm certainly not using proxies.

If the system uses differing IPs, that's a bad idea if you ask me. I have more than one computer that I use, and I use library computers often, though it's mostly homework. Please fix this issue.

if you have ever used a proxy, you might get affected by this.

Where/how have you been banned for using a proxy?

I've been banned on this forum today for about an hour before I got a friend to PM RPGMaster200. I was also banned last week sometime. I'm not sure how I was banned, because I don't know the system. I've never used a proxy on this forum, for sure though.

I believe you were banned for using Opera mini, which returns a positive as a proxy server.

Well, that's not a proxy. I think that instead of an automatic ban, the system should send an alert to the report cache thing that mods/ admins can deal with manually.

Also, just to clarify, the system checks for web proxies, right? Not the HTML ones or WhateverTF they're called.

Depends on what proxy you use. Cause with a normal web proxy combined with firefox's Imacros you can automate it. But when I use Opera mini I don't get banned here, so thats strange..

Yeah, I have to use IE on this forum. Opera Turbo is a proxy? 0.o So yeah, I can't use plain Opera, too slow...

Opera Mini. Not turbo. It's random. I've used both and it works fine here.

I use Opera Mini on my phone. It doesn't   bother me.

If it's a proxy, ban it.

If it's not, mark them as clean.

we aren't. You are getting caught by us checking others. And we check it by typing it in the address bar and see if it resolves or if when googling it anything interesting comes up.

Nothing we can do. Would you rather be banned for a short time every once in a while, or never get banned but let in the forum raiders?

IDK! I thought I was getting banned for using other computers! Why do I always get banned if you check the IP's to see if they are proxy IP's?
