Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

2012: A Look at the Year Past

K nubs, I haven't been here for this year so I made this thread so people could explain to me what happened. If they did so, they got a + rep. Now I am changing this thread into a "discuss the year" in general, because I'mtoo lazy o give more +reps.

Btw, my favorite was this:

rocktheworld313 wrote:

EE was a very fun game,
Even with nothing new,
There were enough things already,
Blocks and smilies too.

Chris then hired MrShoe,
Who made some good updates,
Switches, boosts, and timed doors,
Who knew EE's fate?

The updates started getting worse,
Tons of useless block packs,
Smilies that were simply filler,
The game was under attack.

Veterans started to leave,
The game's going downhill,
Soon everyone will be gone,
But I'll be playing still.

MrShoe comes, attacks EE.

People go, fewer people come.

2000 becomes 700. A lobby not overrun.

An absentee mod, then two, then three.

That sentence has no predicate.

Well It said one sentence or fewer. If you would like me to expand though....

One thing that happened in EE this year was the introduction of the moderator Julian, and because of this a once fantastic time waster turned into a noob parade.

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

Chris hired Julian who is willing to update the game every week.   The updates started out good, but due to the quantity of updates the quality went down overloading us with updates that are useless and not needed.   Julian adds the woot system which then sorted the top levels in the lobby putting "noob" worlds higher and "pro" worlds lower due to "noobs" +wooting worlds; thus discouraging "pros" to make good levels and to leave EE forever.

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

Julian is the biggest nub ever.

He updates every week, but his updates are so small.

Plus, he hasn't changed the title screen in a forever.

He thinks everybody likes him.

10 years and still awkward. Keep it up, baby!

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

Zomg so much work :0

Chris Hires Julian as a new moderator on Everybody Edits.

Julian fills the game with mostly horrible updates every week, which attracts a hoard of artistically challenged nublets, and makes it harder to find items in my inventory.

Julian adds the woots system which allows people to woot levels up, but woots (in my opinion) are horribly misued by noobs who usually woot levels for no reason other than they won; he also makes it so you cannot down woot only up, and for a while this almost ruins the level lobby.

Julian adds builders club which gives users beta and access to all blocks, but I rather like builders club because I get unlimited blocks so I bought it, the end.

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

Thanks, that makes more sense now.

Downwoots and upwoots, sounding like another website I visit. =P

I heard that once you stop having builders then you no longer access the blocks, is that true?

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

He is not bad, but he is overloading EE with updates that really don't change the game.   Sure, new brick packs change the "looks" of the game, but not the actual game play.   Out of the useless updates he has only put out a few good ones: switches, timed doors, boosts, coin gates, death bricks, and checkpoints.

I don't find him that bad; he is trying hard to try to make us happy.

When you buy BC membership you can't buy the bricks so when it runs out you will have a lot of catching up to do on the new updates that happened during your membership.

It is true.   This is one reason people are quitting their builder's club free trial.   Basically if you are in the builder's club, you will miss the limited time packages.

On another note, I emailed Julian to cancel my free trial and he responded. Seems to be a pretty nice guy overall.

Most people are saying you do but as far as I am concerned there has been no valid evidence of this so I am inclined not to believe it.

The only thing you lose are items that you did not have prior to having builders club, which for users like me would be nothing, because I already had all the buyable packages before.

Also with builders club you still have to buy smilies, not everything is automatic.

I'll do even better, here's a haiku*:

Julian came in
All was ruined in updates
Nobody's happy

*Anglicized haiku counting syllables rather than on in order to make my writing simpler

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

@Nickolai Seemed nice to me too, but then I realized we probably got auto responses, so that doesn't count.

@Terence22205 Erm, yes, I'm still not sure, but I think Christmas was/is temporary. (If not deleted now, may be deleted when shoe comes back.)

@Ratburntro44 2nd line has only 6 syllables //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Okay now for my summary.

In the spring, many of us welcomed MrShoe and appreciated the small updates and changes, and also much desired ones like friend's list.

In the summer, complaints of cheap and mass produced updates started; the idea of next week's update lost it's wonder.

In early fall, confidence was somewhat restored in MrShoe, as result of gravity worlds, and boosts.

In late fall and early winter, potions, forum failures, woots, magic, builder's club, and spikes, changed the way many thought about EE's future, and caused many to quit before the EE they thought would be forever was completely gone.

I quit EE when Julian came.
A few months later, I came back.
Saw all these updates
Damn.

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

Thanks for the summaries nublets.

Sounds like this nubguy was trying to make up for the lack of updates before, and it was overwhelming. Anyone still around that I might recognize? I see buzzernub here and failgirl. What happened to rpgnub?

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

You might recognize me //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

here mine:   Months upon months, and no updates.   Eventually, a new guy arrives, updates begin happening every week.   People are happy for a short while, but slowly start to get more annoyed.   Soon, the game becomes something many people didn't want it to be, and it begins to suffer.

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

Mrshue came.

Every week updates caused quantity over quality with a chance of rainin- no, non-fitting sandbox game style mechanics.

Magic got magical so they put it out so they put it back so yo dawg.

Builders Club, aunt of beta came and beat beta with her giant hammer, made a complex intercourse of players and ee.

Re: 2012: A Look at the Year Past

An Canadian god of art and beauty, the mighty Honeybuckles44 joined Everybody Edits.

Everybody Edits got flooded with updates and now we are drowning in them.

A wild MrShoe appears.

Leveling system and ranks, EE is one step closer to become a RPG.

Christmas, three month of no updates, smileys, Sci-Fi, losing green color on minimap of yourself, friends, MrShoe, blocks and smileys, blocks and smileys, blocks and smileys.
Promised contests, no contests, woots, bugs, kwl people quit, BC, losing beta, banning random people mods don't like.
