Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

This is a topic on response to JadElClemens post. I think the forums should have new moderators. I say this because most of the moderators, IMO, are either very in-active or biased. I think, besides the admins, the only good moderators are Rurigok and Jakery. Rurigok because he knows how to moderate correctly but without taking sides in a situation. And Jakery because he has common sense and is actually nice to people. Other mods can hate on me all you want but this is my opinion. I think we should replace the in-active/biased mods with people who will actually moderate and do it well.
P.S. This topic is not to say I want to be a moderator. Because I don't. I don't use the forums enough nor do I want to moderate it.

Jakery - Fine
EDJ - Great
Different55 - Doesn't know what he's doing. Plus he was also chosen because people liked him, not because he showed responsibility.
Chewy - A major jerk to everyone. A very bad decision for a mod IMO.
Different and Chewy were chosen biased, they had a lot of friends. Different is a little rusty and Chewy is just a dictator (minus the tator)
Well then...
Actually me and chewy were chosen because we were responsible. I'd give you a quote but I might get in trouble.
And biased how? I can't fix it if I don't know what it is.

Meh, I don't think we need new mods yet. I think during that constant stream of forum raids some more active mods would've been helpful, but for now we're fine.

I don't think we need new Moderators. I just think some of the current mods need to take Moderating more seriously. They're too often using the excuse "Mods are forumers too" and I've witnessed a bunch of Flaming from some. Also, I keep seeing Topics closed over "EE-Drama" when I have yet to witness any Drama in a 2-Post Topic.
Which post of mine was this a response to? Rate-the-mods?

We need one very good moderator. The sad fact, though, is that nobody currently on the forums posesses any qualities that makes him/her any better than any other forum member or current mod.
I really don't know how to incorporate this into that ^ there, so I'll do it here. Some do have qualities that make them a better choice than other members (for obvious reasons), but those that are at the top of the list of potential mods (not that it's official, just my own opinion), (e.g. Takoman, Chimi, Supadorf, Twipply, etc.) are all on an equal level. They don't have anything going for them that makes them better than each other.
EDIT: How could I forget Supa?

This is the solution to everything. More mods = less spam, less forum attacks, less work for the existing mods. I see absolutely no reason to not recruit more.
As for the existing mods, I've already expressed feelings on JEC's thread. Link to post.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Too many mods = too crowded = everyone trying to do the same job and getting in each other's ways. And we did fine during the forum raids, and things are easier now. Why would we need more mods during a calmer time?

You were only chosen because you are online a lot and dumb enough to not realising that your only purpose is to take care of spam, since the real mods are too busy/lazy to deal with it.

I say we need at least 10 mods/admins who are actually checking the forum.
Chris: No way, he doesn't check the forum at all
Cyclone: When was the last time HE posted?
Toby: See Cyclone.
RPGMaster2000: Is more active than the rest of the admins, but I think the mods are still more active.
Rurigok: I think he doesn't check the forums daily, but at least a few times in the week.
Different55: The dictator of the forum, 24/7 on.
Chewy: I can't remember the last time he posted.
Jakery: Hasn't been really active since his job is killing him.
EDJ: I had to find his name, because I forgot about him. He's a good mod, though.
Alex: Whoa, I forgot him, I went to User list and searched for admins and I found him. Doesn't seem to be so active.
Bass5098: It's good I checked the User list. I thought he posted a few weeks ago once, but I guess that was his last one.
That means, out of 6 admins, two check the forum now and then and out of 5 moderators, 1 (or maybe EDJ too) are online. That means 3 or 4 people really do something about the forum. We NEED more mods. DOT.

You are WAY off. I am much more active than that. Just because I get on the forums doesn't mean I have to post.

But see the thing with moderators is that when they know they are moderators they think they are above the law. They think they are better than everyone and cannot be banned because they are mods. Have you ever seen a mod get banned? We don't really need more mods, we need less mods. So rather than my original post I think we just need a few good mods. And we should de-mod the old in-active ones.

Remember the attack of them bad pictures not so long ago???
We need probably 1 more mod that will be in a different time zone than other 3Hrs Or more...
Well then...

You showed responsibility? You basically only gained respect because you made the useless "List of Trolls" topic.
You were chosen biased because people liked how you made a stupid list of trolls. And also everyone chose you because they were doing whatever everyone else was choosing for mod. Mods shouldn't be chosen by the public, only by the admins. And Chewy is just as responsible as a drug addict in a room full drugs. He takes his job too seriously and bans with no mercy. He doesn't care for the people, only for the criminals. He's also an **** about it, if you do something wrong he blows up in your face.
Honestly, the get rid of you and Chewy and pick two different mods. (Ex. Me, TakoMan02, Nou, Failgirl101)
I don't think more mods are required, we just need to replace the bad ones with better ones.

I'm better than them and you know it.
Mods are not needed on the forums, i dont see that many problems on this forum any way most people are fine. Its EE that needs mods.

I don't want to be a moderator. I don't think I use the forums often enough, and plus I hate getting involved in other peoples business. I prefer to kinda keep to myself ^_^
Teach the current ones how to mod instead of replacing them.
Or replace some of the current ones with new ones and make a system that takes new mods through a mod tutorial/quiz the first time they log on as a mod, and they can't do anything until they take it.
I hate tall signatures.

Keep in mind that the system should remain simple. In my opinion, if a mod ceases to do his/her job correctly or to complete satisfaction of the admins or other mods, give them a week to improve to a satisfactory level. If they don't, replace them. I think adding more mods instead of replacing current mods is a mistake. We have plenty of mods, and I agree with this:
Too many mods = too crowded = everyone trying to do the same job and getting in each other's ways.
About Different55's supposed hatred from the forum members, at least he's trying to improve.

I don't think the mod tutorial idea is really required, plenty of forums have managed without it in the past. If someone truly needs a tutorial on how to moderate, they probably lack the skills to effectively be one anyway.
A more important thing to consider is popularity dictating modships. You don't want a moderator in their position because they're popular, you want them there because they're good at it.

Hey bro, I'm a way active poster when it's required of me, other than that I do actually read most things on here
Teach the current ones how to mod instead of replacing them.
Why start from scratch when the finished product is available?
No more mods. I think the mods are doing a good job. No more mods unless they need help.
