To distracting and eye-irritating to see in EVERY SINGLE POST. Besides, It's not even nice and smooth. I like the plain gray classic style.

Clarify what you mean by only in long text.

If someone was telling a story about thier worrld they can split text, pictures & links
also if someone was giving instructions the dividers could be used to distinguish picture & text from another Picture & text.

But why only in long posts? The height of the post-box has nothing to do with it and the width is always the same.
Well, it's just my opinion, but my feelings are the same as my first post. It's just to signify a break between the post and whatever you have as a signature. It's the signature that's suppose to be realized, not the little line. It doesn't have to be all sparkly. If it was, it wouldn't match the forum's color theme.
