Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Fix the forum errors

I'm tired to F5 to just read or post something.
404 not found or proxy and DNS problem is something that i get forever now. And the theme can't even load sometimes. What I remember did cyclone say that it was going to be fixed today. Maybe it's still on the way to be done. Idk.

Re: Fix the forum errors

I have to Ctl+A just to see the text, and the text in the text box is in Courier, and there's no image for the +rep button, and all the errors, and the fact that it takes over a minute to load each page on a fast MacBook.   Hope we get this fixed REAL soon.

Yeah it's annoying. This page for example is all messed up, and other pages sometimes are exactly as they were before. And the reply box is half the original size.

It's taunting me. The forum is finally back, yet is being such a pain.

I thought the probably was with forumify, not EE?

Re: Fix the forum errors

something tells me cyclone messed up some of the php code for fluxbb when he transfered the server. it says error in GET/viewforum.php so he needs to debug the forum.

I'd rather have the forum somewhat working than being completely down.

Re: Fix the forum errors

I disagree.   I'd rather have zero interactivity with them for a while then to have this over and over.   Also...

I found your first problem.

The forum works fine for me, but only when I have three or four tabs open. Any more and it starts getting buggy.

I just spoke with Cyclone and we agreed that this new direction for the forum is for the best. The forum will not be "fixed" because it isn't broken. These new "interim screens" are there to help balance the server load, so hitting F5 is actually the best way to use the forum for all of us. It takes a little while to get used to, but this is the best for all of us in the long run.

Just kidding. Cyclone is working very hard to get the server errors resolved. Just keep checking back and hopefully all will be back to normal soon.

Re: Fix the forum errors

I feel like the forums have been going down-hill since the server swap. It's longer to view threads/posts, longer to navigate the forums, and way more annoyance. I've seen some pretty annoying stuff but these errors take the cake.
I think the "update" has made it Worse, not Better. People are leaving more now.

Is there anything that has made the forums Better? I don't see any improvements.

I think that Cyclone is fixing the problem quite nicely. The 404 and Proxy errors have been lowered tremendously for me atleast.

Cyclone just did an epic reboot of the VPS and now all appears well. I hear choir angels singing.
