Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: How to Pick a Mod

In my opinion, I don't think I'll ever become an administrator, or even a moderator for that matter. I don't contribute as much as TakoMan02 or anyone else I can think of at the moment. Besides, it's a lot of work to contribute to since I have to deal with school anyway. I believe I won't be staying on Everybody Edits for a while now as well.

EDIT: Who remembers the "Who would make a good mod?" topic?

Examples of busted filaments?   Okay.   When's the last time bass5098, Alex, Chris*, Peter/sBeam*, Toby, Rurigok, or Cyclone moderated anything?

Alex actually helped Different clean up some of Hedder's raiding posts [which, should be noted, there were 25 of them and I reported enough to recite Shakesphere's O Mistress Mine with one line per report, and then some. It was only a few days ago.]

Rurigok is a pretty active admin, honestly. Toby also has stuff to do with the game, I have no idea who the hell bass is still, and Cyclone closed that 'What school do you go to?' topic.

You don't need to stalk someone to realize they're not here.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

You need to prove it somehow.

Re: How to Pick a Mod

This is a slightly okay idea, but it's extremely abuse-able and spam-able. Let's be honest, on the rare occasion that the noobs don't try to nominate themselves, they'll just vote for a friend, who will, in all likeliness, be a horrible moderator. Also, what if I make a dozen or so accounts in order to get my name up there? You may think that the mods would check the IP addresses, but, even if they do, it's pretty easy to get a hold of other computers.

I do think we need more mods, though. Chewy is usually active, but I occasionally see Jakery, but that's it.

EDIT: There were four pages, so I only read the first post.

Different55, Chewy, Jakery, RPGM2K, EDJ.   Those are the only active authority figures, in order of activity.

It might be suspicious when we see twelve accounts with one post each voting for you.

Knowing you, the accounts' names would probably be stuff like "SHIFTRULZ" and "I<3SHIFT".

I don't agree with allowing the community to vote for moderators. It just ends up with people voting for their friends, the kool dood with the highest postcount or someone else for a stupid reason.

We've established that community voting doesn't work. Why is everyone suddenly so caught up in moderation? Is that seriously the only thing we have left to talk about?

Pretty much.

I think it's because everyone WANTS to be a moderator, I mean, who doesn't? People like to feel power. It's just a common characteristic of most humans.

We want = We encourage you give.

Want updates = Talk about updates
Want Chris to die = Talk about Chris
Want power = Talk about power

This forum is very boring as well. It would be nice to see a new, active moderator once in a while
