How do people get banned with 0 posts?

They would most likely be an alt account, or a spambot.

They look at the suspect's IP, then register it to see if it matches others.

Also, their posts could have been deleted. For instance, one spammed inappropriate content, and the posts were deleted, and it was banned.

One reason I know of is to rep themselves. Other than that, I don't know, to hide in secrecy, really. Different55 did it once, proclaiming RPGMaster2000's name. The account was shortly banned.

Anyway, I've never done it, just so ya know. :rolleyes:

If they're banned, they could use a proxy, thus allowing them to get back on. They might think the mods won't catch them, but they do. Take Linus.21 for example.

Before you ask how mods know who and who doesn't have a proxy, they can probably tell by the IP.

St Cool, the posts do not register by their name if posts get reindexed. If we look at an account and see it has an inappropriate name, or if it has an IP that appears to be a proxy or if there's another account using that IP, we ban it.

Yeah, it was before I was a mod and before it was made clear that RPGMaster2000 was designing the graphics.

Nobody says linus's name because he's linus21. If you say his name without the period, it's censored to linus21.

the forums just hate him. hes the only person thats been banned on here more than me >:(. basically he got a permaban and then started making a bunch of alts to raid the forums, somehow got another chance on the forums, but screwed it up and started raiding again. rurigok just added that censor for fun.

To answer the OP:

-Proxy
-Alt
-Inappropriate name
-Bot
-Posts deleted

All of these can get you a ban where it appears that you have 0 posts.
