Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

What to write and not write when posting a new topic

Hi, this is a little instruction on what to write and not write when you post a new topic.

Here are some examples:
- Get a good title.
- Write what you are all about, so that others understand what you mean.
- Try to spell well.
- And when you write, remember to focus.

Here is an example of how it might look like if you do not follow instructions:

                                                                funny Jungel
I liek dis lvl bcuz its got easi mini games
And here is an example of how to write:

                                                                   funny Jungle
I like this level, because it is simple. Cyclone is the name of the person who made the level, well done Cyclone!

I hope as you learned something!

So much fail. I don't even want to go into this, it will take too long. I'll just laugh instead.

Re: What to write and not write when posting a new topic

putnamehere, your post was about as much fail as you consider this topic to be. Your post contributed exactly nothing to this topic and you should feel bad.

That being said, considering how short it is, it would be pretty helpful for very, very general guidelines. Titles are important and spelling well is probably the number one thing about writing a topic. You could expand a bit more on... everything, though, but I suppose its shortness would cause it to be more widely read by those with short attention spans. So good job on that.

Re: What to write and not write when posting a new topic

Basically what I was saying was:

Grammar is terrible, don't say that it should be right when your's isn't. (I know, I know, they're foreign. I don't care)

"Get a good title" is not helpful at all. That's like saying "If you want a cheeseburger, try to get a good cheeseburger."

"When you write, remember to focus:" THis is a forum, nothing needs to be formal. Unless it is complete spam, it's basically fine.

Also, the title of this thread and even in the corrected example of the OP are unappealing titles. ("funny Jungel", should be "Funny Jungle" caps, and spelt correctly.)

This should clearly be in Forum Discussion.

And who here can honestly say this isn't at least partially an attempt at a sticky?

I also told you that. Yes, my post might have been harsh, but it also had a few pointers for you.

Zoey2070 and xputnameherex both have some good points.

You definitely need to expand more. Here is a better version of how this could be written better:

Hello, this is a little instruction on what to write, and what not write, when you post a new topic.

Here are some guide lines:
- Get a appealing, catchy title, that captures what you are trying to show, explain, ask, discuss, etc.
- Write what your point is, in a way that clearly shows what you mean.
- Use proper spelling and grammar, so that people can understand your text.
- And when you write, remember to not get destracted by off-topic discussion, and focus on the key points of your topic.

Here is an example of what not to do:

                                                                funny Jungel
I liek dis lvl bcuz its got easi mini games
And here is an example of how you should try to conduct your writing:

Funny Jungle
I enjoyed this level, because it was simple and fun. Cyclone did a great job making this level!

I hope that you learned a few things on how to make a nice, forum topic.

Feel free to copy and paste this into the OP, if you want.

Anyway, this topic definitely needs a lot of work. It wouldn't help anyone as it is right now.
Moved to Forum Discussion.

Lol, first of all, that is a very small mistake. Second of all, I never said that grammar had to be good, in fact, I said that it can be terrible, as long as people know what you're saying.

I'm sorry for going off topic, but it's reputation, and actually, repopulation sounds kinda wrong. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue
