Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

It's not against the rules if the post is relevant. And if it's not relevant, it's spam, so there's no need to report anything for gravedigging unless it's spam or the topic has expired.

Thanks for repeating this again and again
What do you mean by the topic has been expired?
Click the link for an example. In the topic, the post was kinda relevant, but the contest was long over.

Perfect example in this thread. Let's say Different started this topic one month ago and now somebody posted in it.
If the reply was:
Thanks for repeating this again and again
This would be deemed as a useless post and receive a warning for spam. (No, they did not receive a warning this time as it wasn't a gavedig. Still useless, but rules are funny that way. Don't argue this, please.)
What do you mean by the topic has been expired?
This would be deemed ok as the post asks a question relevant to the original topic. If it's already been asked in the thread, it would not get a warning, but would be mentioned to read the topic. (Again, rules; funny. No arguments please.)
I direct you to the rules:
You may...
...bump a thread if it has dropped past the first page.

Thanks for the examples, I won't be so scared grave digging anymore when my post is relevant.

Sticky? Not many people will look at this if it's just random junk in the midst of the Forum Discussion Subforum.
honestly, I think most people don't even see the stickies.

Meh, you're right. Most people don't go on this subforum at all anyway.

That's a shame, this is one of my favorite subforums that side of OT.

W-what IS this?! Where AM I?!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Yeah, I'd sticky this even if lots of people won't see it. No real harm can come of it.

Meh, stuck for now, but we really need to organize all these stickies we have in Forum Discussion into a giant guide to the forums for noobs.

A lot of people have tried making topics which condense all the important stuff, but a couple weeks later they're completely forgotten about. Go dig one up and slap a sticky on it!
