Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

We already do that, but most people use proxies

I think the raid report button would be good.

What would it do different then the normal report button

It would have the post seen by any users but the mods and admins, and a mod/admin can un-raid the post.

How about this, have a check-box below the reason saying "This post is part of a raid".

When a moderator or administrator sees the report, they will know it is a part of a raid and can assess the user in question.

If the reported post is spam with inappropriate content, then it's obviously a raider. If it's just regular spam, like our recent one, then the mod/admin would need to see a few of his/her other posts.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

@calculusguy: Nah, if you go to any page with auto-log in you'll be stuck on the same "banned" page, even if you click Log Out.

Re: Forum Raids

Sorry for the gravedig, but another raid just happened, apparently.
Some guys were talking 'bout it in Coldstorm (according to them, it just had a lot of blank videos), and when I opened a raided topic out of curiosity, it almost crashed my browser.

So, we have a new type of raid?

Re: Forum Raids

Yep, unfortunately. It uses so many videos it lags your comp. If I ever ran into one such raid on this craptop, the thing would overheat within a minute and I'd probably have a nice burn on my right leg from the fan. Cyclone should make it so only a max of X videos are allowed per post/page/thread.

Re: Forum Raids

Every year people will find new ways to raid. We need some sort of a "Protection System" Against raids. As i heard, there was a "Lag" raid. Gosh,if we don't do something, were gonna get screwed. :[

It's a program that does nothing but spam forums.

Re: Forum Raids

I think that the op should be edited, to include a little guide on what to do during a forum raid (like turn off pictures, report, and move on, or something like that), and this should be stickied in every forum, so that when one happens, people will know what to do right away.   Also, I think that if enough people report on somebody within a certain amount of time, their should be some notice that will pop up when people enter the forums, the informs them that a raid is happening, and that it'll link them to the guide, so that as few people as possible have to see disgusting/inappropriate images as possible.

Re: Forum Raids

the only sensible thing to do is get more mods from different time zones. also delete any posts that get enough reports and ban accounts that get enough removed posts.

More mods in different time zones is the solution. If there is always at least one mod online, then they can deal with forum raids immediately, or even deter the raiders.

Re: Forum Raids

Anyway, isn't gravedigging stickies allowed?

There should be an ignore system, where you can ignore pictures or videos from a certain topic/topic page/user or just ignore the certain picture or video. You can also block posts or PMs from a certain user.

Good idea?

How about 2 all-time moderators that have no life and live on the forums?
They should have opposite timezones so one could be on all day, ad one on all night.

If a post or user is reported 10 or more times from a different IP, E-Mail,   and user, a window hould automatically pop-up on a mod's or admin's screen showing the post or user.

Re: Forum Raids

Another forum I was on had those type of images. I literally puked all night. The images were in every post (One post had hundreds!), and they were the most vile things you could possibly imagine. It's safe to say I was scarred for 6 months. (It was 7 months ago)

Nah we don't need more mods, we need people I trust to notify me through offsite means. Like Thuggishprune did for this one.

Yep, me and Different55 watched as uuui and agree almost ruined this other-wise fine website.

Different55 deleted the spam. I did nothing.

Since I'm not a admin or moderator, I assume no responsibility for not doing anything!

By court law Arceus64 wins!

Well, even if we did need more mods, you might have to be a member for at least a year.

Re: Forum Raids

There was another one about a week ago now. Gross stuff. Since I'm mature I was grossed out, but not enough for it to have any real impact on me. My brother (who also plays EE and was on the forums aswell) on the other hand, puked all over his laptop. The pics were deleted within about 5 mins of being posted.

I can imagine what your brother did.

Creepy.
