Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Why would you delete my "'off topic' discussion" topic? Why would you delete the "why was he banned" topic? Because it contained some opinions that you didn't want to hear? Both topics' main points of discussion were completely safe, and didn't deserve to be deleted. In the case of the "why was he banned" topic, that's dozens of pages of forum history flushed away. If you're really that desperate to hide anyone who disagrees with you, delete a few posts (which I still look down on). There's no situation where destroying a topic for a few posts in it ranting on slander and tyranny, especially one as huge as the "wwhb" topic. That's completely and utterly wasteful. Then my topic. Most of the topic was ranting, as opposed to the "wwhb" topic, but it's still a piece of forum history (for this forum, anyway), and, as I stated before, the main discussion point of the topic was nothing that could have justified deletion.
tl;dr: Quit screwing around with posts. Deletion isn't justifiable in most cases, like I mentioned in my "off topic" topic, so stop doing it unless it's serious. We (the staff) don't censor flaming, we don't censor slander, and we don't destroy pieces of forum history for any reason. [/rant]
Alright, I'm done here. That felt pretty good. Sorry for another late night wall of text. I'm going to go recreate my "off topic" topic from the copy I made in case this happened. WHO'S THE PARANOID ONE NOW?
And this http referrer crap you guys put in keeps attacking me while I'm posting. According to the forums I have a lot of nice tries and I'm a hax0r.

That was my fault - I deleted a few threads, eraseing some drama and I forgot that the rest of the "Why we're they banned" thread shouldn't have been deleted.
I also have a backup of the thread and will try to re-insert it.
Drama is fun too look at though,
y u delete my thread meredith?

I can understand the reasoning behind it.
I don't understand forgetting what a topic is while deleting it.
Erasing drama is like sweeping crap under your rug. It's still there and it still stinks.
I'm so tired right now.
If you guys could give me some feedback on this, I'd appreciate it:

Drama has no place here. If you want to create drama do it elsewhere.
Why would you go and say something like that? This forum is practically the home of drama. Trying to squash it will just cause more of it. If it bothers you that much just ignore it. Drama threads let the forum people vent and provide entertainment. What good does banning it do?

The forum is home to discussion not pointless drama that serves no purpose.
People can vent their opinions without creating drama.
I have to side with Different55 on this one Meredith, this forum is practically fueled by drama, the only reason to delete a post is if it's spammy or otherwise offensive to a large group of people. Let's not try to pummel what's left of the community, rather let's try to bring it back to its former glory, shall we?

Multiple things can live in the same house.
And did you not read my post all the way through? Drama isn't pointless (gives you his feedback) and it serves a purpose (lets users vent). At times what you delete isn't even drama. It's just people expressing opinions. Anyway, the main reason I have a problem with this is because the drama that's being cleaned up is all negative towards the new administration. It makes it seem like you're trying to silence opposition, even though that probably isn't the whole case.
Speaking of all the negativity towards you guys, I want you to know that we (or me, at least) don't hate you. Everybody only discusses and rants on the negative stuff because that's the stuff that really bothers us. For me, my *only* issue with you guys is your tendency to modify posts, which in my opinion should never ever happen ever unless it's a raid. In everything else you guys are doing a pretty good job, so thanks.

Just to help me clarify what you're saying - what's your personal definition of drama ?

goddammit meredith. you keep saying that crap is subjective to use it as an excuse to cause drama or do bad things.

Drama is necessary to get a point across, it's a means of voicing your opinion, if something is wrong or otherwise. If we can't keep the former integrity of the forums, we mine as well re-wipe the database and set the forums to read only. Drama has a deeper meaning than you think, Meredith. Different55 has been a moderator for a long time and we're lucky to still have him to keep order in the forums.

No this was a genuine question to see whether our definitions are different thus allowing us to come to an arrangement.
Also if your swearing isn't caught by the filter you may get a warning - in reference to how the swear word in your reply was censored to "crap".
My working definition of drama in the context of the forums is restricted to the really stupid stuff. Drama is where facts stop being brought into an argument by the majority of the participants and when flaming is ready to start, if it hasn't already. Whenever this is seen, the situation has to be defused allowing the topic to return to its peaceful state, or ended if the topic itself is causing the drama.

Drama is just long, exercised exaggerations. It sometimes goes out of hand, but I haven't seen anything but a few new topics be created in the terms of going out of hand. Nothing broke any rules that I've seen, and the only reasons I can come up with for you to delete forums opposing you is that you're embarrassed of your arguments over the topics' topics, and that you really didn't want to deal with too many people saying you're wrong and found deleting the topics entirely easier.
What's the point/purpose in drama? In this case, it provided an opposition, which gave many in the community a chance to speak; them just happening to speak against you, which you got disgruntled, in turn you exploiting your administrative powers to beat all this nonexistent bs.

Different55 I concur with your definition.
I did find deleting the threads easier then answering them - next time I'll just ignore them.
I personally think that "drama" is necessary in some cases. Sometimes, it can make a pointless argument, but sometimes, it can make a valuable discussion. Not all drama is bad, so you may need to accept that. Like lrussel said, it's useful for getting points across. This is my personal opinion, so feel free to disagree.
this whole discussion is getting dramatic:cool:
...but seriously, drama is useless, it's just people whining at eachother over a forum

Stay on topic, you two. This is not a place to mob another user with -rep, and if this goes any further I'm warning all three of you for abuse of the reputation system.
Utrex and reidolol, stop taking it so seriously. It's just a meaningless number. Stop worrying about it and enjoy the forums.
Fdoou, quit provoking people. The first thing on the rules page is "Be Nice". Now be nice. I want love and compassion flowing through the 3 of you.
With that out of the way, if any of you have a problem with this, you can make a complaint by PMing me. I expect all future posts in this topic to stay on-topic.

Is this doing to happen/did it happen, and if it did and it didn't work put, I'd be more than happy to try to write a a PHP script to restore the topic from the backup.
