Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I hate having to press enter 2-3 times just so my paragraphs have one space between them, so they don't look like a big wall of text. It's annoying to have to go back and hit enter again, just to have my post say "lasted edited by kingoftheozone at ___" where it looks like I have to go back and constantly correct grammatical errors or spelling mistakes. It's just starting to get annoying to have to go back and fix my posts on a regular basis. The old forums weren't like that, why is it like that here?

I'm not sure as to the cause, either. I'm clueless as to whether FluxBB intended upon making it like such or it being a bug.
I've yet to find the direct cause of it.

It's not in vanilla FluxBB and I've never seen a bug like it in any of the heavily modified fluxbb installs I've visited. It's a bug specific to this forum in parser.php. Do a difference check on the vanilla parser vs this parser and check out the bit about new lines around line 1000 of parser.php. It should read this:
// Deal with newlines, tabs and multiple spaces $pattern = array("\n", "\t", ' ', ' '); $replace = array('<br />', '    ', '  ', '  '); $text = str_replace($pattern, $replace, $text);
I'm guessing that the "\n" in $pattern somehow got changed to "\n\n".

Nope, nothing wrong with it that I can see.

Huh :/ Then I guess you could try the difference check.
What happened to the fluxbb files to cause all these weird bugs in the first place? Vanilla FluxBB doesn't have them, and these aren't random. Random accidental modifications of the source spit out error messages or blank pages that are easily tracked down. Like with the pagination bug with the addition. An extra "+2" isn't something that happens all on its own. It makes sense syntactically but no sense functionally.
Maybe you should just scrap the whole thing, reinstall vanilla fluxbb over this and redo all the mods. At least then you wouldn't have to deal with these crazy bugs.

What I usually do is just:
//
So, for example:
Hello, my name is BuzzerBee.
//
This is my second paragraph.

It works, but it's still a bit annoying. I would rather just press enter and drop down...

I just use

that.
Not that hard or unorganised...

Yes, there are workarounds, but the bug is still there, and it's not supposed to be.

The old forums didn't use to say the "Last edit by anch159 on _____"? Wow...

It did.
They did. FluxBB has had that "feature" since it was created.

Me to. "a post like a normal person."
It's all I do every day.
Now since I might get warned for this: time to get on topic.
Pressing the "Enter" button twice isn't that hard, but I guess that it could be annoying after a while.

Usually that doesn't work either... It still puts all your text into one big block. I usually have to edit the post and add another drop down thing.

This is
Still in one big block?
But there is a space in between right?

Well, if you don't want your precious text to have "Last edited e.t.c"
Just use preview.
Isnt that why they have that >_>

Could there be an option to turn off the "Last edited by..." and makes it only visible to mods? I don't know if that's possible to modify and sorry for being picky, but it's distracting and I see it as useful only when you want the viewers to actually see when the post was updated.

I shouldn't have to...

Hit enter 3 times instead of 2. That's the real workaround.
But still, it needs to be fixed.

Yeah
exactly. Two spaces in between each block. That's what I said before

You said to press enter twice. I knew what you meant, but nobody else did unless they already knew about it.
Also, most other places don't make you do this, it's so easy to forget.
Most other places haven't been screwed up this badly. I'm really not sure what happened here and can't easily figure it out (that's Meredith's and Atilla's "job"), but it doesn't seem like something that can't be fixed be replacing parser.php with a fresh copy.
