Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Double posting isn't against the rules. As long as both of the posts are about different, relevant things, it's okay to double post. If the two posts are not about different and relevant things, you will be warned for off-topic. spam, or something else. Double posting isn't really a thing, and it hasn't been since before the old forums went down.

And I should mention that by "different, relevant topics", I'm not referring to the forum topics that you make. You can make as many topics as you want (just don't spam us). I'm referring to the topic of your post. The message. The content. The reason why you are posting.
Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

I've had two people message me and say something related to double posting this week alone.
We don't care anymore. Those are old rules.

if you don't care, stop giving us warnings for it

not sure if the 3 warnings = day ban etc. rules were ever followed
then again no one can see if warnings expire besides admins and the person who was warned

The warning system is set for warnings to expire, it's programmed that way explicitly.
The rules haven't been updated to reflect the way the new warning system works.
As opposed to the old warning 'system' it consisted of moderators putting a note on your username and manually checking up on the warnings through it. Not very efficient and I'd assume a lot of people have had unfair duplicate warnings because of it.

I haven't given a warning for double-posting in months if not over a year.
If another moderator has issued a warning for multiposting, let me know and I will remove it.

PSA: Public Service Announcement.
As for the case of double posting, I have only seen a few scenarios where people have actually double posted about different things, all related.

Last night I just added a table to show you the point values, and a couple tweaks for enhanced readability.
The double-posting rule has been gone for months. I don't know why you asked me to update them.

i don't think anyone really knew about them being removed, and i was just asking in general, with the warning rules also since you already made it clear about double posting in op

It's been said a lot. Especially back in 2012 when the change actually happened. Here, have some links:

The double-posting rule has been gone for years. I don't know why you asked me to update them.

Well it's been posted in the rules, Forum Announcements, miscellaneous posts, and now Forum Discussion.
What I don't understand is why new people like yourself assume it is against the rules. It's been gone ever since you got here.

not sure where you think i assumed it was although i guess it's just sort of a taboo anywhere, and part of it is probably because i hadn't started posting a lot until recently
