Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Constructive criticism for staff

If you think I've made some questionable moderator decisions, let me know here and I will review them.

I just try to enforce the rules, but apparently I'm being to strict. I want to hear what you guys have to say.

Since you guys have to live with us (the staff), I figure you should have a way to tell us how you feel instead of talking about us behind our backs when it can be dealt with directly.

You can also use this topic to complain about other staff members, but I can only speak for myself.

Some of you can get "emotional", so I must remind you to keep it respectful.

Re: Constructive criticism for staff

Meredith warned someone for double posting when the double post was fair (related to topic at hand, prior to another post.)
I cried a bit and felt logically and emotionally distressed, to the point where I removed the warning. :c

Aw, Atilla you're so kind!

I don't really have a problem with any of you. At one point I did think you were a little strict because you were warning people at nit-picking things, but it was pointless for me to get irate over it...

You guys (and Meredith) are awesome for saving the forums ;D

To be honest I believe the forum is cleaner than ever! You're all doing a good job! besides, the team of forumify has never (imo) been so complete and united, everyone knows what they're doing, ofc mistakes anyone can make but I don't feel like anyone from the staff is abusing their powers. Two years ago when half of the staff was absent, the forum got messy. So again great job!

You moderators are doing a great job, the forum is moderated far better and is cleaner. People act differently because this is a "fan" forum so is no longer moderated by administrators. Out of the entire community, about 10% of forumers post off-topic, spammy and just plain annoying content. In summary, good job! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Re: Constructive criticism for staff

I've never had a problem with the staff. Most of the time people who complain are just the usual whiners or trolls. Granted once in a great while there are a few unwarranted warnings, they always seem to be taken care of (eventually) in the proper manner.
If I had to give one critique, I've noticed via many posts that it seems there isn't much discussion among the moderators about warnings/bans as a collaborative. IE: Merideth could issue a warning without telling other moderators, only later to have it revoked by Atilla who finds the warning unfair. I know when there are obvious issues which need immediate attention, like King Mabel, moderators should act at once. For smaller warnings though, such as rude/spam/gravedig I think they should be counseled from time to time. That way it's an agreement among moderators and there is no need for a mistaken warning.

I agree but I see no practical way of carrying that out. Perhaps issuing a placeholder warning until a solid decision has been made would work. Most law systems do not rely on one person, and it's for a good reason. More perspectives = less bias, fewer mistakes.

But that is for a forum that is larger than this. We have less than 50 regular users, I could probably name most of you from memory. There's no need to remodel the system with a size like this. Dealing with problems as they come will work for now.

I think she just means that we should talk about what constitutes each of the things she mentioned from time to time.

I can't even focus on anything else but this fact. Do you know what this means? Moderators can change the date on their posts. Nothing is real anymore. I smell conspiracy. [/sarcasm]
Serious matter, this forum is way more organized and controlled than ever before. Thank you for your work.

Re: Constructive criticism for staff

On a slightly off topic note, I have no idea why it did that. If I had to guess, a particular staff member edited my post (there used to be a link in it) and somehow messed up the system in the process.
