[Idea] Avatars from image location
Just a thought, I think it would be pretty neat if we could copy the image location of an image and use that as our avatar with automatic rescaling to fit within the 120x120 limits.
It would allow for people to have their avatar change by using a bot to change the image at the location and switching avatars.

There are dozens of image resizing website around to do that. It would be more quick, but rescaling an image and uploading it doesn't take long at all.

The problem with this is that the image is a huge web beacon and can potentially track user activities. Moreover, if the image url is a php script in disguise, it can randomly change and one of those images could be profane.

Yes, but what would be the difference between that and what users can put in their signatures?

The resizing isn't the important bit, if I had an image at squad.fs/avatar.gif I would be able to change this image with a bot (so if my <bot name> bot is on my avatar can say that it is on, or other messages - people could do some impressive stuff with it)
