Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Parents seem "Chat" Deal seems unsafe.

I bought the beta, Today to be exact.
I though the chat came with beta!
However, I asked my parents if they could
also verify the chat for one cent.

They think this is a scam. My parents
accept that I am allowed to goto and use
the "Chat" here.

I am 15. I think I am old enough for the
"Mature" chat. I can handle.

I am aware that these "Pennys" do not go towards the server payment, so if a moderator
can like, active chat for my account, it would be nice.

I am aware of the rules using the chat, and I accept
the punishment of chat removal if I do break the rules.

If I must provide more details or so, you can tell me.

Thats his email but theres no guarantee that he'll write back and you can also try the blog which you'll find the link to on the top right of the ee website. Currently he is busy until friday from what i recall on his blog so you'll have to probably wait until after then.

I am still annoyed at how he never wrote back to me >;[ Perhaps i should do what i saw on another topic and pretend to be a parent at the start of the email.

1) He can activate chat for you, just send him an email with some proof of your age and he'll do it free of charge.
2) Chris doesn't reply often because he gets so many emails already! He does still read all his emails, though, and will reply under some circumstances!

In all fairness how can you prove how old you are in an email?

I'm 21 but i can't exactly prove that in an email with just text.... anyone can say they are any age.

@35005CP I doubt you want to do this but you can scan your "document" (Is that what it's called?). Where you have your photo and all that. Well, there he'll know your age.

Re: Parents seem "Chat" Deal seems unsafe.

I don't really have a document with a picture on it other than my provisional driving license, but i'm not going to share that on the internet, just like i wont share my birth certificate or CV or any other personal info that includes my full name, address etc.

That is extremely unsafe to share that sort of info with someone who i don't know.

I can tell chris exactly when i turned 21 and 18 and even where i was when i had those Birthdays!

Not sure, sending a picture of your passport/driving license/some form of ID, but with the confidential bits blurred?

Re: Parents seem "Chat" Deal seems unsafe.

But then that could also be flawed. Chris could then think 'he knows how to blur text on a document, who's to say he can't edit text on a document too to make it so he is over 18.'

That is sadly the issue with emails and pictures, it is very easy to edit things with photoshop, unless he saw me in person i have little way to prove it in theory!

Of course people could just say why not pay the 1 cent for chat. I don't have a paypal account and i wouldn't want to make one just for this game with my card details on. Age wise i am more than fine to have chat, it's just proving it and getting chat that is the problem!

Yeah, I suppose. I doubt Chris will be that strict on it though, as long as you showed the picture of yourself, name and date of birth it should be fine.

Re: Parents seem "Chat" Deal seems unsafe.

This was my main concern when they first made the parental control. I have my own paypal/ bank account so I didn't need permission.

Just if I were a parent and I didn't know anything about a site and they only need a penny I'd be kinda iffy as well.

Let your parents navigate on your account/ Chris's blog a little bit so they know exactly what is going on.

Jeah, really, I don't think many parents will search just for a little game. My parents don't want to do it. So I can say i'm fourteen but I don't think that they believe me because there is no prove. But i give my word. THat is holy for me. Never break your word or your going to be punished. I think they don't believe me.

I can say that i'm 6. Yes i'm six.

You can also send one picture of your ID (here is RG) but you can blot (asks google translator) the ID number and other personal information, just show your name and birthday date.

But it's not 100% of chance to him aprove this.

Try.

Re: Parents seem "Chat" Deal seems unsafe.

man i just wish everyone could talk on the game or you could be able to see what someone says cuz its hard to do anything without talking for example theres a problem with the game you don't have chat so...   the only thing you can do is jump up and down till someone helps but who knows how long that will take till someone does help/ and its always annoying when someone is trying to talk to you and you don't have chat //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile
