Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Referring Players

Rather complex suggestion with a lot of text. Please suggest how I could change it! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Each player in EE will get a friend code (like 1234-567-8901) which they can share with their friends and encourage them to join EE. When the new player enters the friend code in the sign-up interface, the new player will be "tagged" under the existing player with the friend code.

Example: Player A shares friend code with Newplayer B.
Newplayer B enters friend code during sign-up interface.
Newplayer B is tagged under Player A.

A player can refer as many friends as he wants, but a newplayer can only be tagged under one existing player.

Example: Player A and Player B share their friend code with Newplayer C.
Newplayer C can only choose one friend code to enter during the sign-up interface.
The other player cannot receive benefits from referring the player.

When a newplayer is tagged under a player, the player can receive benefits from the newplayer. For each magic coin that the newplayer collects after the limit of ten, the referrer will receive 5 extra energy.

Example: Player B is tagged under Player A.
Player B collects 10+3 magic coins in a day.
Player A can redeem 15 (3*5) extra energy the following day (given along with the 5 woots each day).

Extra energy can exceed the max energy number, but once the total energy goes below the max energy number, extra energy will be included in the total amount.

Example: Player A has 415/400 energy.
He spends 20 energy. He now has 395 energy.
When the energy recharges, it will stop at 400 (max energy).

Also, if a referrer is tagged under a referrer, the 1st level referrer cannot receive benefits from the 3rd level referee.

Example: Player C is tagged under Player B, who is tagged under Player A.
Player A cannot receive benefits from Player C.

Re: Referring Players

Neat idea, might make the newplayer feel like a slave though.

10 years and still awkward. Keep it up, baby!

Probably the newplayer would get the same benefits as the referrer.
Or the newplayer should just refer more players. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Re: Referring Players

Quick question, why have a cryptic friend code when we could just use their username as a referral?

Re: Referring Players

What if someone make a lot of accounts referring them and share?

This is a false statement.

Re: Referring Players

The problem is that the "someone" will have to collect more than 10 magic coins for each player for benefits, which may take a long while. The cryptic friend code is so that multiple people cannot simply enter usernames like "kangxp" without letting the player know. It might be nice but also very weird for the player.

Re: Referring Players

Why is it a bad idea? I think it sounds good. It encourages players to invite new players. I think it would be better if the referrer got more benefits than the new player, rather than both the new player and the referrer getting the same benefits.

The referrer should get more/better benefits, because they've invited a new player to the game. This new player needs to be active to get more than 10 magic coins. And if there is a new active player in the game, and it's all thanks to the referrer, they should be rewarded.

If the referrer is active in the game, the new player has not done anything to cause it. However, there needs to be an incentive for the new player to enter the friend code in the first place. So they would get a smaller benefit, but it should be something permanent, and not based on the referrer's activity in the game. Maybe a faster energy regen, or a permanent +10 energy or something.

Re: Referring Players

To get +10 energy every to every invited player i can simply make new accounts, and faster energy regen should be most limited. But like you said, the invited players will feel like they're slaves, and it's too useless to add.

Re: Referring Players

Yes you can get 10+ energy on new accounts. But what would be the point in that? It doesn't affect your account unless the new accounts are actually active. And why would the new players feel like slaves? They're not being forced to do anything, they're even getting a benefit out of it. It's more of a positive for them.
