How come beta blocks cant be borders?

I like the beta blocks better, but you cant use them as a border for your level. Why is this?

jasonjess, I recommend fully-blacking the real border and drawing a beta one juts inside of it.

Because basic blocks will fit in with the original edges which are basic.
