Is there a special way to do it or is it just completely luckbased?

Bots is the only way to do it other than luck,made for nubs by nubs.

Not completely luck based. You can develop a feel for the right time to jump. I can generally get 1x1's within 5-10 tries, sometimes on the first try, and I've done as many as three in a row before.

They aren't luck based at all. It's all about timing. If it were luck, nobody would be able to do a whole stack of them without dropping down, while others can't even do 1. Nobody is that lucky. Plus I can do a bunch of them easily so I would know that it has to do with timing.

Timing.

I remember how me and kongregatefan called eachother 1x1 hook buddies, and when we met each other in a boss, we raced to beat the stack

This? Sometimes, Based on luck. Sometimes, Based on your timing... Or just finish it by bot.
Yea, My record... I can do 4 times in row for 1x1 hook jumps.

I think I've done 2 in a row, but certainly no more than that.

It isn't entirely luck. You do eventually get a feel for the timing, which improves your chances substantially.
