Is the friend system broke?

Trying to friend people, I gave my email exactly, they gave me theirs, but it's showing up as 'pending request' for all of us, and there's no way to accept any of the requests..

You need to go into your email account and accept them there.

Normally you must go to your email,then there should be the invitation. (sometimes it's in junk emails)
Open it and click some link and (s)he should be in your friend list.
Also,only one of you need to send an invitation

^pretty much those. Just go to your email that your friend sent it to, or tell him/her to go on the one you sent it to. It's a pretty stupid way to do it, but oh well...

Delete the pending request and try sending it again.
