Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

[Alpha] Dashboard -- Overview of your world.

EEDashboard is a web application that allows you to see data in real time like the following:
- users online
- returning versus new visitors
- admins and people in god mode
- blocks placed per second
- minimap
- hours played (collectively through all users)
- and probably anything else

Website: http://ee-dashboard.herokuapp.com/ (currently offline)

Feel free to share comments, suggestions or anything for that matter.

Interesting...
I think the only real useful thing is seeing the blocks placed per second. Could find trolls...

I agree with you on this. The dashboard wouldn't really report any other interesting information than the information you can see when you go to your own world, except maybe (as you said) blocks placed per second.

Do you know what kinds of information people might be interested in that isn't directly visible when logging into the world, if there is any?

It's nice to have all your stats organized into one compact site.
You could also add more info

I'm not sure. Are you planning on making this like an online bot?

Yeah, it's basically an online bot except your credentials wouldn't be stored.

Re: [Alpha] Dashboard -- Overview of your world.

It's a neat concept, I'm sure it'd be interesting to see these kinds of statistics.
There's things that aren't being statistically watched at the moment that could be;
things like registrations per day, people online each hour, total worlds opened, worlds newly created, and so on.

It's neat to see someone bringing aesthetics and functionality closer. You're doing a very good job at this.

Right now, I'm working on a dashboard design as well for an EE project.

Totally agree. These types of statistics opens up many possibilities.

If possible, I'd really like to see it when it's finished. I feel kinda bad though that I'm just copying you //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Yeah I could add this. It would especially be useful on boss levels (perhaps). EDIT: I'm able to get real-time graphs of users online (every 10 seconds), how many people in a world, blocks added/sec, chat, movements, total amount of worlds (per 10 seconds), how many coins one has and such. I can also get a real-time minimap of the world but it's kinda useless because you can just go to the world and see it

Copying other work allows you to add on to whatever you are copying.

Re: [Alpha] Dashboard -- Overview of your world.

I have a small preview of what the dashboard could do here: http://ee-dashboard.herokuapp.com/

Note though it takes a long time for the graphs to populate. Shows things like total rooms, lobby size (people online each hour), total open worlds, total beta worlds and newly created worlds.

Probably pretty buggy considering that I didn't test it too much!

Nice. It is quite laggy, but instead of using graphs why not make it just numbers? This gives me a small idea... I'll post here later.

Yeah I could definitely make it just numbers (since they are numbers to begin with).

Just thought it would be less laggy than trying to load a graph.

Forgot I added a Thread.sleep in there; lag is pretty much fixed //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue. The server only sends out data every so often and since the graphs are made dynamically by javascript, it's mostly the servers (my computer's) fault //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile. However, if the graphs were images, then just using numbers would definitely speed things up.

EDIT: now it's super super fast //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Re: [Alpha] Dashboard -- Overview of your world.

Wasn't thinking that data was only sent every so often. In that case, it isn't nearly as laggy as I thought it was.

Not sure if it's just my browser, but the graph seems very laggy.

It would be neat if you had graph options that allowed showing data from past 5 hours or few days; for analytics it would be more informative and useful.

Yeah I could definitely add that. Lag isn't good; this is what it looks like on my computer: http://cl.ly/W3Wv/ee-dash-lag.mov

(there is quite a bit of lag, but not sure if its more than you are experiencing)

Re: [Alpha] Dashboard -- Overview of your world.

Hello everyone,

I have investigated into ways where I don't need to use a VPS/leave my computer on all of the time in order to have EE Dashboard update its data. A server-less version has been deployed at http://ee-dashboard.herokuapp.com/ ; I need testers to check if everything seems like it's working okay.

Two first graphs seem to work, but three last are showing nothing. (or aren't they done yet?)

You could put x & y names on your graphs, even though they are easy to understand. It would make it look better.

I could definitely add that. Would make sense because it can be vague since there is only a title and nothing else is labelled.

The last three are under construction for the moment but I'm trying to implement them.
