Basic Grass Tutorial

Please Bear in mind this is only a basic tutorial and if you are looking to make more advanced grass, then i suggest you take this and make it your own (make it your style)

I made this because im noticing many people are wanting to know how to make grass, so i hope this helps!

When making this basic grass there a 4 blade shapes you can use. Here is a pic v

Hmm looks weird you say? Well when put together they look fine.

Here is a picture of them joint together. As you can see you can put them in any sequence or pattern and they still will look great.

Dosent look good? Wait a few more steps as we are no where near finished.

Ok, now if you havent done already, you will need to add ground.

Not much more to say, apart from as you can see the grass works well with any shade of brown.

Now depending on what shade you grass is (light to dark) Vary the colour of you grass, as in add some more colour making sure not to have places to light now two dark.

This probably not the best example, but if you want to be more experimental, maybe mess around with some decorations, keys and one way blocks. (green ofcourse)

Now its time for the magic, the part that probably has the biggest transformation from the previous stage. (minimap wise) Add crowns under your grass.

Look good?

Now there one more thing, but for the tutorial this is optional. So its not necessarily needed. But if you are wanting to do this then, round of the corners of the grass with crowns. Obviously if this was in a world you would need to secret block it off.

You could use a grass decoration block but i feel a crown is lighter and rounds off the corner more. Wether as with a decoration it appears up more on the minimap, and it could just stay looking 'squarey'.

Erm,   don't want to be rude, but, just look at real grass, that's pointy at the top, not at the bottom. ;p

You can get flat grass, like when it gets freshly cut :3 Besides, he was demonstrating it as a little block, that's why the edges were rounded off with crowns.

I appreciate that you took the time and effort to make this tutorial, you can't teach people how to draw but you can always help them

I could have sworn i wrote somewhere 'You could experiment around with decs and more green shades' but i cant seem to find it. But yeah Basic grass tutorial.
