The making of Flying Contraption

I'm making a level called Flying Contraption.
I drew an airship, which is not completed yet, neither does it have minigames.
I don't yet know what to draw around it, probably some clouds in the air and the jungle on the bottom of the level.
Here's what i've made so far:

I would really appreciate any ideas what to do next and maybe some feedback on the airship.

add some shading to the back end of it, make it look like it's flying toward the sun!

Yes i am planning on making the air baloon more realistic by adding some shading on the bottom and darker bricks below the airship... I don't know how it will look like yet.

I still need to add stoker, cook, also i need will make observation point on the top of hot air baloon, if i find any space between i'll make some gnomes hanging from it. I like your idea, but i don't know where would be the best place to make gnomes hanging from. Anchor or net hanging from the airship?

Use more colors with eachother, one color only doesn't look realistic, maybe making the rest of the level with fully black blocks.
