Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Guide: Need Variety?

Are you making a level? Is it a boss or minigames? If so, you will need some variety. Here are a few suggestions:

A. Minigames

1. Avoid continuously using unoriginal minigames!

[sarcasm]Now, now. I know you REALLY want to make a thousand hookjumps in your level.[/sarcasm]
When you want variety, don't overuse the same minigame over and over, especially if the minigame is also very common in other levels. Think of all the overused minigames out there. Think of what annoys YOU when it is overused. Don't be hippocritical and don't do things you would find annoying if it was in a minigame world you were playing. Try limiting the use of hookjumps, tightfits, and pixel drops. 'Cause honestly, most people get tired of these. (Maybe not pixel drops as much, but still.)

2. Come up with original minigame ideas!
Use your creativity. Think of an uncommon or never-used minigame you think would be fun. Let your imagination flow freely. Brainstorm. There are endless possibilities of minigames. If you have original and fun minigames, your level will be known as being very varied. (Wow, that sentence sounded odd. XD)
Trust me, most people like something new. If you don't, you shouldn't be reading this topic anyway.

3. Whatever you do, don't make a tremedous mistake!

There are many levels of mistakes possible for minigames. Here is the chart:

Unnoticable: Very slight mistake in placing of platforms or coins.
Minor: A few minigames are noticably annoying and not fun. It's almost impossible to not sink to this level.
Medium: Many minigames are solely tightfits/dotted paths/hookjumps. No variety.
Somewhat Large: The level is boring because of not using common sense.
Major: You threw your brain out the window and made a very bad level with almost no fun and no variety.
Tremendous: You made every minigame as bad as possible OR you made an unescapable trap in the level.

If you even get to the "Somewhat Large" level of mistakes, your level probably either has no variety or is using variety to make the level bad. Examples of bad variety include making a decorated yet inescapable trap or having your new minigame be impossible. The worst thing you could do to your level that could be varied is making an unescapable trap INVISIBLE. So be careful with your variety.

B. Boss

1. Make it beautiful!

If you have a boss level, make some beautiful artwork to go along with it. The most imaginative users make the boss part of the beautiful artwork. try to conform the boss into a shape that goes well with your artwork. Great pixel art takes a while to make, so you may need helpers, especially if you are not talented at pixel art.

2. Try for a unique shape!

Don't make that boss a square or rectangle! Try for a triangle, a pentagon, an octagon, a flower, or even something abstract! Users LOVE it when the boss has a unique feel, while the shape doesn't conflict with the boss.

3. Go for a theme!

Try to theme your world to make it more fun and interesting. Possible themes include Old-Fashioned, Arcade, Pokemon, Sports, Robots, Technology, Nature, etc. This links to the first two. If your theme was Nature, the artwork could be of trees and rivers, while the shape could be a flower or a bird. Go for an interesting and an original theme!

I hope this has helped you add variety to your level. Please suggest anything to be added about bosses and/or minigames. Thanks for reading this relatively-long guide.
