Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Bad turned up to eleven

During the last energy shop disaster I had nothing else to do but throw my energy towards a massive world since the things I usually work towards weren't available. So now that I have the level I decided to take my absolute least favorite aspect of stair levels and turn it up to eleven. Obviously it's not done yet, but here is Torture stairs. Is it horrible enough yet? I was thinking of making minis now, but if it's not awful enough I suppose I could make a red flight of stairs next.

As a show of sympathy for anyone who gets to the top of that flight of stairs and goes to a different tab while decending the other side I stuck a coin there so it'll announce that you've reached the bottom. I guess I'm just not evil enough.

But seriously now, why do stair level designers do this? Why do they decide to "reward" the people who make it to the top of the stairs with an imposed wait time for no damned reason? I just don't get it.

The only problem is these kind of things are everywhere. I've seen all worlds and great worlds completely taken up by stairs. Those are.. not right..

I just don't get the appeal of it all. How is it fun to enter a level, hold the space bar and hope you make it to the top of a flight of stairs over and over again, then enter a new world just to do the same? At least the X number of easy minigames levels have some variety.

Yes. Stairs are for nubs and nubby players who play them.

Oh, how I hate stairs.

A: I've troll proofed the wait bricks, which by necessity cut down the wait time by more than half.

B: I've decided to do a bunch of not quite minis before the next flight of stairs. I find too little variety in tiny minis so mine are usually 12x12 or better. The ones I started are 15x high by whatever I feel like wide.

C: I'm thinking of cutting the wait time down even further. Maybe down to just five or six wait cycles. That really cuts down on the torture aspect of the stairs, but I think I can just make it more torturous for the second flight of stairs to make up for it.

D: Good, god, why are people playing this crapfest? I have like 15 players in here right now.

The only thing right about the level is the name.

If you can manage to wait through that first flight of stairs I think I've actually created a decent collection of minis. They aren't too hard, but they also aren't basic crap either. Pro tip: go to a different tab, the coin noise will tell you when you reached the end of the wait.

Just no, get rid of the stair's. Nobody like's them and they have no friend's. Even hooks stay away from them.

*bump*

I've added a few more minis and threw the trophy in at the end among other things. It's still torture waiting through all of those keys though..
