Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

EE Tournaments

Hey everyone, I just came back to EE and have to say, I'm impressed at how much EE has grown. With all these new features, a type of world that I have long tried to make could become a reality, but I can't do it alone. Here are the details:

What: I will try to develop an elimination tournament that can run by itself as long as a player afks in a machine. The tournament will be comprised of races, minigames, maybe co-op games, etc, and only the top players each time will move on.
Where: http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWuv_aQ5FDbEI
How: Using a world portal and 4, 8, 16, or 32 starting points, with fail-proof systems to guarantee that only 1 player will be in each slot when the tournament begins.

If you are interested, you may post below and I will try to form a team dedicated to building/brainstorming ideas. Any and all help will be welcomed!

A means of communication can be established after the team is assembled.

Not sure how you'll make the systems work, but I'll help design systems if you need.

Re: EE Tournaments

Sounds great! As of now I'm trying to think of a good way to automatically filter players into a system which can start as soon as the required amount of players join. We probably only want to use 2 sets of keys for this since one will be used to actually start the tournament/keep it running.

I tried using spawnpoints + world portal linked back to same world, but there's no way of stopping players from coming in after the bracket is full, and I'm thinking of using a mechanism on the side that filters players in 5 secs at a time which triggers 4/8/16/32 keys which in turn are sent to an afk player who starts the game when 16 are triggered, but resets or decreases tournament size if people aren't coming into the system for a set period of time.

Re: EE Tournaments

Hey, can anyone test the contraption I've created (below)? Basically, its purpose is to allow 2 players at a time to enter the bracket, and the blue key sends a signal to an afk smiley. When that signal is sent enough times, the afk smiley will start the tournament. (I will also rig up timed things to start the tournament immediately if not enough players are joining). It also is meant to separate players into slots, which could potentially be used for team games.

It's not perfect, but players trying to mess around with it by aligning themselves on top of each other at the arrows at the top of the chute on the right will have to deal with a slight amount of lag, which will most likely mess their 2-players-in-1-slot plans up //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile Even then, assuming enough people are playing, this part of the level should go by pretty quickly.
