Current Arena Advantages: You can see a player that is still in the round easily.  Disadvantages: People can spam and block the view of the arena, hide their blocks, etc.

New Arena Advantages: There is a bigger arena for everyone to use. More level design possibilities. People are in one space, which stops a mod abusing dots to freeze a particular person. You can confine the chat to a vertical strip, meaning less chat spam masking the arena. You are teleported to a new space that shows which block you are assigned, which can dismiss any- potential spam blocking your assigned block, before the arena starts.  Disadvantages: Old maps will be rendered obsolete. Meaning that the old maps will have to be designed to fit properly in the new arena. You'll need to use !block username, to see who is a particular block.

Any suggestions or input, post below! Please stay relevant to the topic at hand.
Guest spammers can and will be banned, which applies to all accounts.

OBJECTION!

Imagine i go to bath and i dont know what block i am, and in time i say "!block" i can easily die.
BTW all maps could be obsolete

That bath story also applies to the current arena as well, even more so if someone is spamming.
I've added the obsolete disadvantage.
Also, who goes into an arena match and then goes to take a bath?

Zeldaxd, normally you would go afk before going anywhere, but I see your point. But I don't think it's big problem.
And idk if bigger arena is better. That could be found out with testing best.

Just talking in general causes parts of the arena to be hidden, which isn't fun for the people playing.
Nor is it helpful to people that have just joined the round and cannot see their block under them due to the chat.

More disvantages to suggested arena design:
-You dont know who is alive and dont know who is the block
-More easy to escape and more hard to kill

Confined spaces can still be added, that's what map designs are for.
Added the disadvantage.

I might post about it to bArena thread and make small vote/get feedback there. It would be possible to run both versions too, eg. every 3 days the bigger version.

Hey, Idea Burst! Make bArena maps, but in different styles. Maybe have an arena in a Cross shape, or maybe a circle shape, etc.

Why not use the same player box of the original design (with a space between the spectators and players so chat doesn't block the view) and the larger arena size of the new design, combined?

For show the players example: Zxcpl, blizzard10, chiscorey vs reidolol, drstereos, proskull2

Because with current player box, this is max size, if it was bigger all players couldn't see whole arena.
More players spaces = smaller arena

Yea and I would make bot say all players, when match starts.
