Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Bob-Omb Battlefield

http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWBoKrB7JPa0I

This level will still be updated, but this is the main bulk and I consider it a finished product as is.

This is a remake of Super Mario 64's (and its DS counterpart) Bob-Omb Battlefield. This level was made solely by myself, and construction began on May 23. I was deciding on a level to create when discussing Everybody Edits with a group of people on a forum that will remain unnamed to prevent advertising, and the topic turned to how nobody has seen a SM64(DS) level. I decided that, without telling the others, I would try to create the starting level of that game.

Whether more levels are made from this game or not has yet to be decided, as I'd like to first see the comments on this one, and if anything should be added or changed. I am aware that the art used in this level is sub-par, but that's to be expected, as this is my first level and I've had no help.

I plan to add a logo to the top and make the cannon on the floating island functional, then I will hopefully fix what is deemed wrong in this level. I am aware that the floating island is in the wrong spot, but with the mountain as it is, I cannot place it anywhere else. I apologize for that.

As this is my first level, I wish to hear what was done correctly and what wasn't. Please give me constructive criticism.

Re: Bob-Omb Battlefield

The only thing i really liked in that map was the portal cannon, and the vast speed it gathers, other than that, the game play was pretty boring, as there is no minis of such.

Maybe try putting a few in, that are original, to keep the gameplay on your map fun.

That is not bad for your first map, as my first map involved loads of hooks, until I found out it was no fun.

If you do make minis, a few tips:
Be imaginative, and stray away from the common minis, Not many people like them.
Please don't put hook jumps in the map, if you dont know what one is, they are usually like

_ | _|

Also, a good mini, is that not only when you enjoy playing it, other people do aswell, without it feeling like a chore or pure rage.

Hmm, thanks. I'll try to add some. It's just that I didn't want to simply make it minigames with the theme of a classic level; that's been done a million times.

I have a lot of empty space, I'll add some there when I get the chance.

EDIT: After I failed miserably myself, I am currently seeking an artist who can recreate objects from other games. I'd like to add the painting that leads you to Bob-Omb Battlefield.

If there are any skilled artists willing to volunteer their time, I would greatly appreciate any help. You will be given credit in the level.

Re: Bob-Omb Battlefield

Yeah, I love the idea, but the art could use a little work

It seems empty, too. Will you be continuing this?

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

I do plan to continue this, but I'll be taking a short break.

Yankeestar, I'd love it if you help me with my art.
