The Volcano (Art Only)

This is a little level I've been working on in between high school and life.   I've been keeping it secret, as it used to say in my signature.   Now, I've opened it to the public.   It's just a volcano.   NO MINIGAMES, SO DON'T GET ALL **** WHEN THERE'S NO MINIS.
It took a couple days, and most of that time was spent filling in patterns.

It looks good to look at, but inspecting the smaller details, imo it needs more shading.

Try to merge the colours together more, making them blend smoothly into one another.

And as for the grass, make it less pattern-y. In real life every millimetre of dirt is different, and every blade of grass is reflecting light slightly differently or is at a slightly different angle.

was because I lost two and a half hours of work.
I tried not to make the grass patterned, but it ended up looking that way.
I tried shading the lava, but it ended up looking worse.
And DKZero, how can I improve it?

I think you should improve the art, maybe make some clouds upon lava because volcanos erupt with solid,liquid and gas. I think it's 5.5/10, with some improves and better shades it can go up to 9-10.

So overall, not my best work.   That's what I was looking for.   Don't worry, my next level(s) will be MUCH better.   Especially the secret one.
