Free Chat is Gone!

That's right people, no more free chat, we're back to paying for speaking privileges. You can still talk to guardians and mods however in-game, or use quickchat as a replacement. How do you feel about this? Discuss.
I believe many people are going to quit after this.

Sidenote: I have chat, can't be objective on this one.
EDIT: BLUE WIZARD CAN NOW BE OPTAINED VIA BLUE COINS.

It's about time! Of course, with the lack of staffers when free chat was released it was a terrible decision. There was no one around to moderate it, EE became a free for all. Although now the guardians don't make a lot of sense to me. The only people who are gonna have chat are the ones who have/had paid for it. So why would we abuse it?

Bring back free chat. I have no monies.

Chatting was one of the most important parts of EE for me. Now that chat is back to being paid only, there's no point for me to play. And as Calicara said, the whole point of Guardians was to moderate the chat for everyone. Now that chat is only going to be had by those that are willing to pay for it, the role of the Guardians is somewhat diminished.

Chat should be free but only activates on accounts that are older than 7 days and you have to enter a captcha to create an account.

I honestly couldn't agree more. With all the noobs that say "your world SUCKS bye!! so gay and dumb" etc. they can no longer chat!! =p

pay-only chat means that potentially a lot of the friends on EE you had are unable to talk to you now.
Guardians were meant to keep the chat clean, and now they're even more useless than they were before.

This is so ridiculously idiotic, I think it's fair to say that Julian is intentionally trying to shut down Everybody Edits.
Whether it's due to the costs of running it, or him wanting less complaints for being on holiday for a year, it's silly.

Anyways, for once I have to semi-agree with Atilla, this chat thing makes literally no sense. If the point of guardians was to monitor chat, then why did we need to take chat away? If Julian was already planning to take chat away, why did he implement guardians? I don't think it had to do with shutting down EE though, just poor forethought.
I can't imagine there is a whole lot you can do to get banned that doesn't involve abusing the chat...

Well now Guardians will need to monitor the actions of players, too. I've seen players during the last pay chat that were very rude. Guardians still have things to monitor. One huge think I think Julian wanted was for hackers/cheaters to be monitored. Suspicious activity to be dealt with.

I guess EE is a little less communist and more capitalist now ^^. I'm sure the ones who bought beta and chat years ago may be enjoying the new hierarchy, but it was a little lonely in the worlds today.
Not too sure why EE thought this was a great idea; they seem to have pushed out the portion of the dwindling user base that won't or can't pay for chat, which was a fair amount of it, with many older players leaving EE.
Tighter sense of community now, at least.

I don't think they realise that the game's player base is struggling as it is. Not a lot of socialising now. No RP. No more chat commands for bots, until theres a large number of people playing who have chat. There might have ben a fair amount of people with chat before, but that certainly isn't the case anymore.

No chat? Eh. I can deal. My biggest problem is that I can no longer send bots commands. Including one of my own creation that I've almost finished.

You guys that are buying the new chat are just actually wasting money, now that free chat is gone, many people will manage to get it back, if don't, they will just close the game in a radical way.

I really feel sorry for all the bot makers like you.

After a minute of thought, I can just expand the form and use buttons to perform all of the commands. So it won't be that much of a hindrance. Of course, the bot still can't hear commands from other users, but whatever.
