Maybe close each section exit with a coin door, so players don't accidentally pass gold coins and can't go back.
I accidentally missed the gold coin in the upper left section of the red area, and then felt like a sad panda (or something).

EE is an entertaining game and I enjoyed playing it...
...but it's time for me to move on.
