Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

The Square: Walkthrough

The following is a Walkthrough for the room, "The Square" (Beta, by Toop. You should really, REALLY try to figure it out on your own before using the walkthrough, but if you get absolutely stuck, here's a guide.

Also, there are rumors of a blue coin. See if you can find it!

When stores are open/people are on the streets
--Bakery -- 6-8am
-- Pawn Shop -- 2-5:30pm
-- Beggar -- 2am
-- Hotel -- 2-8:45pm (at 6pm, front desk is vacant)
-- Town Hall -- 6pm-8:30pm
-- Cafe -- 9pm-10:15pm
-- Cinema -- 11-11:50pm
-- Green Grocer -- 9am-1:45pm
-- Balcony above city hall -- 6pm
-- cobbler apprentice -- 2am
-- street performer -- 11pm

Walkthrough
0. Go through tutorial, exit the hotel. This is the city Square.
1. Climb to the top of the clock tower, talk to the horologist, get the rachet handle.
2. Go to 6pm, go to hotel, steal the mug while noone is looking.
3. Go to 10pm, go to Cafe, talk to Cafe Owner to get coffee on your birthday, get party hat.
4. Go to 8pm, go to Town hall, talk to host and then judge, get $5 prize!
5. Go to 11pm, find street performer, tell them you'll find trumpet and you're seeking keys, Trumpet available in Pawn Shop.
6. Go to 2pm, go to Pawn Shop, buy trumpet for $5.
7. Go to 11pm, find street performer, Hotel Keys available in Pawn Shop--but they cost $1 and you don't have that much money. Time to make a buck!
8. go to 6am, go to bakery, talk about getting a quarter in exchange for   apples and flour.
9. Go to 9am, go to green grocer, get sour apples; go upstairs in grocer's and take the flour.
10. Go to 6am, go to bakery, get quarter.
11. Go to 10pm, go to cafe, talk to cafe dweller -- Tell a joke about vegetables with the punchline, "You're an onion". Receive a quarter!
12. Go to 6pm, go above city hall to the 'balcony', steal a quarter off the desk.
13. Go to 2pm, go to hotel, talk to Hotel Owner, sell porcelain mug for 25 cents.
14. Go to Pawn Shop, Buy hotel keys!
15. Go to hotel, enter your room! Win!

Nobody making you (or anyone else) use it. And at the top I say that you should really muddle your way through (like I did).

There is absolutely no reason people should be hating you for this. You're doing them a favor and giving them a hint section, if they don't want it, they don't have to use it!

Re: The Square: Walkthrough

Agreed. It's useful and optional. 'It ruins all the fun' doesn't necessarily apply to everyone.

It doesn't. Are you upset that there's a walkthrough?
Furthering an argument of something that has been successfully refuted is pretty naive - especially with a two-worded reply.

It was the fact. Nuff said.

Re: The Square: Walkthrough

Ok, arteem, tell me, how would you feel if you were stuck for a whole week in one part of a game while begging for the solution of that part and getting no solution?
That is why walkthroughs exist. To take you off sticky parts.

Re: The Square: Walkthrough

I'd just continue looking.

And once more, it's a fact it ruins all the fun, so stop trying to prove it doesn't.

It's a walkthrough. Sure, it ruins all the fun, but under YOUR action. Because you (anybody) were the one responsible for what you see on the forums.

Re: The Square: Walkthrough

Im not gonna lie, I did look at this once, for coin 12, but then i felt ashamed and closed it very quickly.

I dont mind so much that theres a walkthrough, but that its slightly unfair for the creator of the world, because nobody actually has to figure anything out if they dont want to, Im not saying it shouldn't be here, because it was helpful (I spent a **** half hour on that coin before I looked), but it might take away from the general experience

Re: The Square: Walkthrough

I'll refund the negative rep I gave, if you can show that you got permission to post this from the level creator.

While it does ruin the experience, you shouldn't be punished if you got permission.

I can't 'prove' or 'show' that I got permission to post this. But I did have an exchange similar to the following:

Theredseven: Toop, I'm making a walkthrough. Do you want me to post it in your forum thread or make a different thread?
Toop: Theredseven--make a different thread.
Theredseven: OK.

It wasn't exactly "permission" because I said I was doing it rather than asking if I could. But Toop didn't seem to object, so...implicit permission?

Boh wrote:

Koto - I was in the level when he asked Toop whether to post it on the level thread or make a new one, so he probably does.

Thanks for vouching, Boh.

Re: The Square: Walkthrough

I would never believe you, just because you said so.   If you didn't have proof, than you could have just asked toop to say something.   I believe Boh, though.   Rep refunded.   I thought that you just decided to do it on your own.
