Okay, so you know that it says God on "our" money and pledge (not national anthem).   But do you know why?   Maybe you should check that out.. I do question how you can mix up the anthem with the pledge..

How about you (AzurePudding) stop ripping on people and stop arguing with people please. It's annoying, it seems like everyone is starting a flame war or wants to start one. It also seems like no one has made some decent topics that are worth reading (imo). Can't we all get along and be happy? My main concern here is the invincibility potion. I don't think any world is going to permit potions anymore because of that.

As for the bishop smiley, what's wrong with adding another hat to the game? If anything we need more hats. HATS.

I didn't mean for my post to get into all this fighting. All I meant to say was this:

IF MrShoe, or Chris, or Julian adds any more relgious icons/figures into the game ie: a Shepard smiley, or a Jesus smiley, I'm sorry but I'm leaving. This is NOT because I have anything against religion OK, but the thing is I don't want to play EE if it's going to become all out god, because I'm atheist.

If people want to go out and follow their hearts desire and convert to a religion I will not stop them from doing as they so please, although I would strongly dis-garee with the decision what people do with their lives is not my choice to make.

The only person I can control is me, and that's all I meant this morning.

The reason I am against adding said smilies is because I don't want to be approached by chatters left and right asking me to convert to their religion, because I will not. And religion can mean a very lot to some people and so if someone asked me, and I said no, and then they starting asking WHY WHY WHY, and then I kicked them, they might considered it a crime against their religion.

The best way to avoid these problems is to just keep religion out of it. EE is not a religious game, nor should it be. If it was going to be a god loving game that that's how Chris should have started it, but he didn't. It's a (mostly) free sandbox game full of "friendly strangers" from all different parts of the world with different cultural beliefs. It's not fair to single out just one, unless EE is a seclusive community but it's not. EE is a game for everyone, and not everyone is Christian/Catholic.

If you don't understand my reasoning now then I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt anyones feeling. You don't have to agree with me, or even like me, but this is just how I feel inside. Can we calm down now?

As a student at college, I take cultural beliefs and relgious beliefs very seriously, because I am aware of the consequences of what could happen if a word or phrase is misinterpreted. There is no need to being up specific events in general because I don't want to alienate one religion, but all I'm saying is I don't want to be that girl, that person who gets misinterpreted and suffers because of it.

If I say no to converting it has nothing to do with the person who is trying to convert me, or their religion. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions, but not everyone gets that. And though I have met some nice people who are relgious and don't stuff it down the throats of others, there are people out here who are religious and do stuff it down the throats of others and those are the people who I try to avoid.

Like I said before, it as not so much to do with as the religion it is representing, but moreover that I personally do not wish for the game to become all about religion and/or single out a certain religion. If EE was meant to be a game about god, whichever god you believe in, then that is how it would have started, but it didn't and I'd like to keep it that way.

And if anyone ever gets offended by me saying such things, than I'm sorry. I am not trying to hurt anyone, but I am entitled to my own thoughts and feelings as well as everyone else is.

I would simply stop, because I no longer wish to play. I would not accounce my leaving. I would not making a long rant, I would simply leave and go.

I signed up to play a game where I can edit my worlds freely and for the most part be anonymous to the people around me, I did not sign up for a bible camp. I have no desire to be involved in a religious community of any kind, and if that is where Benjaminsen wants to go with the game that is his choice, but that kind of thing is not for me. So if he so choosed to do so, good for him, but I will no longer be playing the game because that is not what I want anymore.

Personally I think if I left right now the community would be better off anyways seeing as how pretty much all I do is troll around, but I stay because I want to, because I can. Because it's my choice, my preference.

If he really does have it, he shouldn't be using it to his 'advantage' in an argument.   I probably have some conditions, but this is no place to tell people about them.   As for the levels, you called them boring without even playing them, so I was just pointing out how your opinion means nothing, not to be insulting, but you didn't play my level and could not have an opinion of it before playing it.   If you're upset at me for giving you a -rep back then, fine, but you don't need to take it out on my levels.   I think we were talking about maturity here, right?

Oh yeah, the game's called Everybody Edits.. not Every Christian Edits.   Everyone would be fine without a Bishop smiley, but not everyone is fine with one.   It's out of place and doesn't belong in this game.  

I play this game for fun, or at least I try to have fun.   I play games to get away from real life issues.   I don't intend to play a game to have religious conversations, or see other people running around as religious figures.   Religion has corrupted most of my family and some of my friends (thinking men have more say over women, thinking gay people are terrible people, thinking a raped woman should go through pregnancy, thinking black people are dark for being cursed for being followers of satan, etc).   Religion just reminds me of how much hatred there is in the world.   The negatives of religion greatly outweigh the positives.   And even if they didn't, it would still be best to leave religion outside of a flash game like this, as it causes lots of problems, like this argument we're having.

But you see, you are wrong, its does affect me. Because I am a very logical person ok. This is not the topic to be having this sort of conversations so I will try to be quite frank.

I do NOT play EE to get a religious experience. I do not play because I want to get the feeling of belonging closer to god. Now with the new bishop smiley it seems that everyone who wears it looks like a little mini pope, which upsets for many reasons.

If you ever so wish to hear an in depth discussion on why I dislike religion and the pope, I would gladly PM you. However I do not think you wish to hear my rantings and so I will only indulge you in such information only IF you ask first.

I am not in any way saying that Benjaminsen should remove the content he has already added, but instead to not add any more religious smilies in general. I am sure there are plenty of game that are built based around the basis of religious beliefs, but EE has never been one of them.

I do not want people to misinterpret me as saying, "Relgions suck, and they are horrible", because I have only had one individual experience of religion in my life. Religion is something that has a different meaning for everyone sometimes for better or for worse and so that is why it is never right to hate a person or group for thinking one way or the other. The exception being unless said group is taking their beliefs into an extremist situation, but again I will not alienate one group of religious people over another.

And so if I quit EE because it becomes a more predominately religious game, it is just a personal preference. It's not right to call me silly for being an atheist because that's basically what you are saying.

It's not stupid of me to have an opinion, and it's not childish to make a life choice.

What if Chris made an "atheist smiley" persay, and a group of religious players stood up against it by quitting the game. Would you call them stupid? I wouldn't. I don't think it's wrong of Chris to do what he wants, but I also don't think it's wrong for people to disagree.

Sometimes the best solution for issues like these is no solution at all. Religion is, and always will be a very complicated thing.

Many people theses days are not interested at all in hearing other peoples problems as "We all have are own problems". though, why do people make this argument that "other people have it worse" or "worse things happen in the world"? By that logic, you can not complain about someone carjacking you, because somewhere else someone is getting tortured. We all have are own problems, that's the reason we have a voice, use it. People with serious problems who just want some ears to listen to them, are being forced by a bad society to keep their mouths shut about the problems that that they have as "people have it worse" or "we all have are own problems" which is why suicide is on the up. Thoughts? -

I really think this is messed up, this happens so much on the top site, Imgur and youtube it happens alot.

Are you even reading what I'm typing?   I'm saying this has no place to be said here in this topic or argument.   What do you expect, me to counter your conditions with bad things in my life?   No.   I'm not gonna stoop that low.   You have your problems and you don't need to bring them up for us to sympathize for you in an argument.   I'm not going to go "Aww, poor you, you win!"   It has no place for here, just like the Bishop smiley in the game.

The only reason people know about this, is from the topic that Tako made.   He's not using it towards his advantage, it actually sounded like he was worried you were using it against him.   I really do not care about your - rep, and I certainly have not used it as an excuse to take it out on any of your maps.   I didn't call your map boring, because you gave me a negative rep.   If anybody goes back and reads my comment on your map, that was in the middle of me trying to give you contsructive criticism towards your maps, and you just nit-picked what you wanted out of it, to make it seem like I'm out to get you.   I'm just sick of you turning everything that everybody says into an argument.   Stop commenting on topics, if your only going to attempt to make an argument out of it, to try and get attention from yourself.

At this point, I really don't believe that you have some sort of condition, Echo's affects how he acts, here on the forums even, which is the only reason anybody knows about it.

Because a religious figure in a game not intended at all to send a message will suddenly "corrupt everyone's minds".

If we are mad at the bishop smiley, why aren't we mad at the devil smiley ? Wouldn't the devil smiley be "supporting" and "worshipping" satan? And couldn't it corrupt the easily influenced minds of 7 year olds?? Come on now.

How about you (AzurePudding) stop ripping on people and stop arguing with people please. It's annoying, it seems like everyone is starting a flame war or wants to start one. It also seems like no one has made some decent topics that are worth reading (imo). Can't we all get along and be happy? (I am not trying to start a flame war, I'm trying to stand up for Echo! and Kingoftheozone my friends)

There's really no point arguing. He's not going to remove it until the entire userbase rises up to attack, and that's not going to happen anytime soon.

I think this is the new topic for beef going down, come one guys can't we all be friendly?

Religion, that's why.

Because a religious figure in a game not intended at all to send a message will suddenly "corrupt everyone's minds".

If we are mad at the bishop smiley, why aren't we mad at the devil smiley ? Wouldn't the devil smiley be "supporting" and "worshipping" satan? And couldn't it corrupt the easily influenced minds of 7 year olds?? Come on now.
