Theres nothing wrong with small or big. Why not making an endless rollercoaster because people playing and then when they are at the finish they will be force to quit.

make sure your coasters have difficulty (or be herty)
races are not that popular, but if you make it real sporty it can be fun!

I like the second one. Because you can get   away from the coaster.
