Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Welcome to Mafia 51 - Secret Weapon. We are looking at unprecedented, troubling times. A plague is tearing through the country, and your government needs your help. Our sources have tracked an infected individual that may be in your area. In order to limit the spread of the plague, we are implementing new measures to help limit the spread of the disease. From now on, you are no longer allowed to go outside of your house at night. Food and necessities are to be rationed. You are no longer allowed to leave this town. Anyone who does not comply with these measures will undergo a democratic trial held by your town’s population, and may potentially be sentenced to death. To ensure these practices stay in place, we have dispatched government agents to help with the transition process. Your democratically elected mayor will be taking a back seat in this transition. Do not climb the wall we have built around town. Please note that we are only doing this for the safety of this town and its important member(s). Do not disobey.

Is this complicated by this place's standards? o.O
There isn't really that much to keep up with; this is certainly not a vanilla game, but all we have to keep in mind is:- mafia is the priority target
- it has lynch target control abilities (oppressor)
- there is a lategame threat (pestilence)
- there is a gladiator who really should side with town if they want to win
- mayor exists, but I honestly don't see how that does much for us as long as he's not revealed (and he probably should not reveal too early)
Sort of yeah. Generally most games on here (at least before Mini started hosting mosly) were mostly Townie and Goons, and those never really had add-ons much iirc. But i think its more a turn of phrase, because everyone here has handled games like this before i presume, but its just jarring when you play it mostly one way.
Having dealt with a similar role to Oppressor elsewhere, i will say, Oppressor will most likely become a big issue for town. Oppressor does not have to put scum in their votes as far as I know, which means that every other day, more likely than not we're going to be lynching a town, unless Mafia feel daring enough to put one of their own mafia in the list.
ShadowsEdge wrote:Allen is definitely maf rn

Who is Allen? What is Allen? Why is Allen (scum)?
AllenCaspe9510, its mostly a joke since I'm in a Mafia server with him, he got Mafia or NK like 3 games in a row and managed to screw over town in two of them, so we just basically agreed to always assume Allen is evil.

I don't know how the roles were distributed, but if the roles all have equal chances, it's actually more likely somebody will not be part of the town than be a part of it. (13 town vs. 4 mafia, 4 neutral, 6 neutral evil)
I think Town would still start with majority, because considering the posssible roles, I think if Town started without majority, then there wouldn't really be a chance for town to yk, win. I guess maybe it's meant to counterbalance with the confirmed Mayor in the game, but I still believe that Town has at least some kind of majority. which means there's probably 8 or 9 town v 6 or 7 evils

About Oppressor, I say we can probably deal with it when it comes - plus, it doesn't stop us from getting info, and we can always sleep. Also, he cannot act until N2, which is more than enough for us to lynch a scum (and perhaps the oppressor himself). It is a very powerful role for sure, though.
Wait i legit didnt even realize that we can vote to skip on Oppressor trials. I suppose it's not as bad then, but its still a wasted lynch. Though, we should still exhaust our options with them in case Mafia do decide to put one of their own on the candidate list.

Revealing modifiers might not be a good idea, at least for the time being, considering that Flagbearer is a possible modifier.

For the record, the entire jester thing was a joke and was just based off of this post. I don't think Norwee is actually acting jester-like, his reads are pretty consistent through each other, the 'jester thing' was just RVS voting and has almost no bearing on Norwee's jester status, since they're quite literally just random votes.
Rereading posts yet again and saw Norwee wrote this on page 1:
Norwee wrote:Hey you wanna claim major then all power to ya.
I ain't gonna judge.
No discrimination around these parts no sir.Would a mayor reveal on day 1 be helpful? That would make an obvious nightkill target for the anti-town players, since they have a confirmed, useful townsperson.
Norwee then follows up with this joke, possibly to ease suspicions:
Norwee wrote:As i am an scum of the mafia alignment i would like for the major to claim now.
I understand Norwee's activity is useful but I can see how he could be evil as well.
Both of these seem like jokes. And the first was in response to Marshmallow saying "My last post sounded like i claimed Mayor". I don't think this can be taken as Norwee trying to get the Mayor to reveal. Also, I don't think these posts in particular are why Norwee is being put on spotlight, Mutant might have different reasons for why he jester-reads Norwee, but I'm fairly certain the others (if there are any, i can't remember) are only jester-reading based off mutant's accusation.
im just gonna
!vote Onjit
i also townread marshmallow more than norwee, i think marsh explained why they suspect onjit/mutant better than norwee, and by that i mean marsh saw things in a more neutral way? but also more detailed, and their reason still stands. while norwee was just aggressive
marsh also read other people's behavior more actively while norwee mainly focused on onjit
I would say I townread Norwee more, just because Norwee was under accusation, Marshmallow has hardly had anyone going for their head, except maybe Era and maybe Mutant. The way Marshmallow play seems towny, but could also be the works of a good scum player knowing how to look towny. Norwee would do the same, difference is Norwee seems like an exasperated town with trying to get town to participate and with accusations on him, whereas Marshmallow just seems calculating.
This is a certified Norwee Appreciation Post

God i just realized all the spelling errors right after i posted it
Anyway, for other people (which isn't a lot)
Twob is only slight town read, primarily because she just seems to echo other people's narratives, however she did (in a recent post), form reads on both Norwee and Marshmallow (which i quoted in my last post I'm not quoting it again).
Mutant and Marshmallow are both neutral but very slightly leaning scum. I think Marshmallow made good points on Mutant, hence the slight scum read on Mutant.
But some of the actions Marshmallow has done don't sit right with me even though they're playing 'towny'. Things like telling people to not accuse them seems odd. I get the reasoning behind it, but it seems like a way to playfully say "don't accuse me." Although, I can see why this might be reading too much into it, as Marshmallow has yet to make a statement on Era's vote.
It could be Town v Scum, in which case I would lean more into Mutant being scum over Marshmallow (though it's partially an activity thing, and I know Mutant can't be as active anymore).
It is, also, good to keep in mind that Scum v Scum situations can occur considering Neutral Evil roles exist, which is what I'm partially thinking this situation could be, although it's a bit early to tell.

Fakeclaiming flagbearer as scum would be dumb: everyone has 2 role modifiers, meaning it's VERY likely there's a Town Sentinel, who could easily out a fake flagbearer.

There might not even be one.
True, but I think the possibility of it would deter would-be flagbearers from claiming it.

what if a fake sentinel claims
If there's a real sentinel, it would just out two scums. Again, same line of reasoning.

I think the biggest issue is if the real sentinel claims and a fake sentinel counters them. Although a situation like that would just be a 1f1.

Onjit is mafia. Mafia only have to take out Mutant to defeat town so it makes sense for him to cc me here.
Something I should clear up as i did ask Mini about it, Flagbearers only make Town lose if they get lynched. Mutant having Bulletproof does nothing to protect town more and just adds more of a threat. I'm inclined to believe the claim is fake because the claim is just *too* perfect. Tying on multiple reasons why we cant lynch him just makes it seem like more that we should. But I'm fine with retracting my vote and sleeping. I don't think lynching Norwee is a good idea, sure Norwee is Neutral, but Norwee's best chance of winning is aligning with town.
If we have a vigi, an easy way we can confirm the sentinels is by having one of them shot, the issue being that Mafia may be able to get a double kill with this as well, and there may be more depending on what the Neutral Evil is.
Don't ask me what I'm doing, I don't even know what I'm doing.

Norwee wrote:If Mutant is the flagbearer and oppressor it's an instant loss no matter what for scum, remember that when reading Altheas arguments here.
If Mutant is scum flagbearer, wouldn't that make Onjit also scum?
Isn't Onjit opposing Althea and Mutant? If Onjit is scum with Mutant you'd think he'd be trying to keep him alive, especially if Mutant is the flagbearer.
