Mafia 50 - Rise of the Phoenixborn Game Thread [VAMP/WITCH WIN]

Welcome to Mafia 50 - Rise of the Phoenixborn! I hope you all are ready for some chaos! It is clear to me that one of you have been blessed with the Phoenix lineage, and I have created this gauntlet as a test to see which one of you it is. You will all be challenged to your absolute limit, so be the most conniving, the most cunning, and above all, have fun!

Here are the rules:

▼Game Rules

- One in-game day will last 72 hours. One in-game night will last 24 hours. One in-game dawn will last 24 hours. Dawn occurs after a night is over, but before a day begins, and is a time where players recieve feedback from the moderator. If you have a usable ability and do not respond in time, your turn will be forfeited.

- Votes that are not made using the Bold or Header tags will not be counted. Self-votes are allowed.

- Do not game-throw, it's not fun for the other players and it's certainly not fun for your teammates (if you have any).

- Follow the rules of the forums and please be nice. Editing will be turned off.

- Orange will be the color I will be using to make posts as the game moderator. Do not use this color or otherwise attempt to impersonate me.

- Players may be prodded after 48 consecutive hours of inactivity by using the !prod <username> command. Players that are prodded for inactivity and don't become active within the next 48 hours will either be replaced or killed (if there are no replacements). If you do not confirm your role before day 1 ends, you will automatically be replaced or modkilled. Being inactive is not fun for anyone, please put in an effort.

- Do not discuss this game outside of this thread or whispering. You may "whisper" to another player by using the command !whisper publicly in the game thread. A whisper is a PM made through the forums. All whispers must be addressed to both the person you are whispering to and to the moderator. Whispering is NOT allowed during any time other than Day.

- You may NOT whisper to more than one player at a time. If you wish to whisper to multiple players, you must use the !whisper command for each separate whisper case. You can mend together strings of the whisper command in one post, but you must make sure to use the command as many times as you whisper. It is also highly suggested that you use these commands first before whispering to other players. Improper use of whispers will be punished via modkill.

- A lynch will not occur when a majority has been reached. A lynch can only occur when the day ends. When a day ends, all lynch votes will be counted, and whatever was voted for the most will be executed. If you do not vote, your vote will be counted as NoLynch. Players can vote to not lynch anyone during the day by using the !nolynch command.

- Twilight occurs when the day has ended but the moderator hasn't closed the thread. Talking is allowed during twilight, provided the thread isn't closed. Players nominated for lynch may talk until the moderator has announced their death. Once you are dead, you are not allowed to talk in the thread until the moderator has ended the game. However you are allowed a single short post if it is unrelated to the game.

- Users not participating are not allowed to post in the game topic, unless like above, it is a single short post that is unrelated to the game.

- Do not take screenshots or quote anything from your role pm or from whispers. Do not post your Role Card ID.

- To let me know that you've read these rules, please append your first message in this thread with the word "phoenix".

This game is a closed setup, so you will not know what roles are in the game to start. Here is a list of the possible roles:

Here are some rulings regarding the game if anyone is confused:

▼Rulings

• Players flip the role card given to them at the beginning of the game. This means that if a player is converted by roles such as the Milk Man or Vampire, or have roles that change like the Yandere or Cookies, they will only flip the role given to them at the very beginning of the game.

• If you die, you keep the role and alignment you had when you died. Therefore, if a Retributionist revives you, for example, and you were a Vampire converted from a Vanilla Townie, you come back to life as a Vampire.

• The game does not end if one role wins. For example, if the target of an Executioner is voted out, the Executioner wins, but the game still continues.

• If your role meets the requirements to win, you win even if you had died earlier in the game. For example, if Town wins, it counts as a win for all dead players aligned with the Town as well.

• Wins are announced at the end of the game, even if a role wins the game before the game is over.

• Tying votes will result in nobody dying, and the game continuing on to Night.

And finally, here are a list of commands that you can perform during the game:

!vote <username> - This command can be used to vote for someone you want to lynch.

!unvote - This command can be used to signify that you'd like to retract your most recent vote.

!nolynch - This command can be used to vote to skip lynching any players for the day.

!prod <username> - This command can be used to prod a player who has not been active in the thread in the past 48 successive hours.

!votecount - This command can be used to request a full count of votes from the game moderator.

!confirm - This command can be used to confirm that you are active within the game in response to the role PM or a prod.

!whisper - This command must be used to show that you are whispering to another player.

!reveal - This command can only be used by the Mayor, and signifies that they are requesting a confirmed roleclaim from the moderator.

You can only use these commands in this thread! I will not accept any of these commands if they are made in a PM!

well that was a bloodbath. didn't realize there were so many killing roles. That seems more than a little imbalanced if a *significant* portion of the game can be eliminated in a single night.

kamikaze is a viable strategy

cutting through 10 people by being openly weird is dumb as hell

This makes sense

I don't feel investigated though, and I certainly don't feel evil.  Considering all the people dead already, with only one being Mafia, I feel like kamikaze is a viable strategy and it's important to watch out for people looking to pick off one or two before they get caught.

Onjit still can’t be sure that Orton is evil, even if he investigated Orton as a cop

per the roles doc if he's a cop and got a dangerous result there's a 2/3 chance orton is evil (or an 11/15 chance orton isn't town)

Not really. Killing Onjit (if he's a cop or cop-like) prevents him from doing any more damage. If he already outed Orton, the scum is out of the bag and killing Onjit only prevents further damage. If Onjit's cop, even if he was just hinting at it, I think that makes him the biggest target for scum to immediately throw under the bus. Instead it looks like they got lucky going after some woman. Unless I'm missing something, Onjit really should be dead right now if there was any truth to what he was saying

And as far as public thoughts, I really do not think Task would out himself as dangerous if it wasn't for a really good reason. I already voted for Onjit ofc but this really solidifies for me that he's our best lynch option rn.

I mean sure it's likely Onjit is exe, but there's still a chance he's not exe and is trying to act like one.
I'm pretty sure exe can still win when he's dead, at least it's not specified that exe automatically loses if he dies.

If Onjit really is exe, why did he say this?

Firstly if he was exe, if he knew that lynching Orton doesn't work, he could've changed his target. There is something he could've done.
Second, assuming that exe can still win after being dead, it's unnecessary to accept defeat and say that. We would've known that Onjit is exe after he's lynched anyway. I feel like what he said would make more sense if he's scum/Jester.

I think Onjit is either scum or Jester, if we don't lynch him today, if there is a Vigi, I'd suggest them to shoot Onjit.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't vig one shot? If they exist they probably already participated in the n1 bloodbath

Why would Onjit help the town though? So we can lynch his target?

Town promises to fulfill onjit's win condition, onjit essentially becomes a vanilla townie.

He could help one of the scum factions, but that would be obvious to the town, and he'd be lynched anyway.

I say this because I think there's a chance that he is mafia, but if you guys think that he's not then it's whatever lol

Onjit has played this game enough to know how incredibly stupid it would be for the mafia to start baseless bandwagon.

Especially since the mafia lost norboy N1. It would be wreckless.

Decent points but like what else are we going to do? We know he's a filthy liar and we have less than 24 hours. We can't just keep nolynching and hoping something good happens during the night. IIRC Vig is town's only killing role.

I'm reasonably confident Orton is the witch (he claimed to me in a whisper, although I didn't tell him what he was claiming), any chance we manage to switch to him before Mini wakes up? Witch does not have a town-compatible wincon.
