I believe Diff is either being sarcastic or is simply lying. It would be completely stupid if his role worked like that. And I'm pretty sure you know that. If you genuinely believed his role worked like that then you'd be trying to convince everyone to vote for him. If we all get infected in the process of lynching him then why don't we lynch him, all get infected, and all win together? We plan to lynch diff on the final day. So even if his role did truly work that way then we'd win anyway just as infected instead of as town.
I mean, we can do that if you want. I can think of a way for ALL of us currently alive to win, if you're on board. I just thought the town wanted to screw us over. It's just going to take a bit of fancy maneuvering to make sure that everyone is infected, and everyone who we lynch is also infected.
Are you on board, too? Cuz I will come up with a way for everyone to win.

Oh I thought there was plurality, but it's nowhere in the rules.
I have 3 reservations about that though:
1: I'd feel bad stealing the win from the dead town members (especially Norwegianboy).
2: We should probably lynch peace anyway since it's quite likely he'd shoot people.
3: There's a chance that only diff actually wins if everyone gets infected. That's the kind of trap I'd expect Onjit to spring on us.
In response to 1, there's no viable scenario whatsoever where the town wins. Fever is the only possible win at this point, so even though town tried, it's still not possible.
In response to 2, let's have peace get infected today. If you don't trust me either, I can get infected today, too. If we're letting Diff live today, it has to be me and Peace who get infected, otherwise we'll have a majority infection before everyone gets infected. The next day, we'll lynch across me, Diff, and peace, and then end the day early. If peace wants to go around shooting people, then we just lynch him today.
In response to 3, in #889, Diff offers Zelda a way out. I don't think Diff would be so cruel as to offer Zelda a way to win if it only meant he won.

Zelda, I really think you really need to reconsider your vote. Again, you don't win with the town. You're basically a neutral that let's the town win easier, because if you were a different faction, it would make the scum way outnumber the town.
If you join the infected, you can actually win.

Peace, if you wanted to know about some of the probabilities of winning, me and you have 0 ways to win as our factions.
Diff only has a chance of winning if Zelda joins infection, but that's basically 0.
The only way town doesn't win is if they can't get a majority on you because Luka is too afk to vote and town just gives up, but he'll log in one day.
It looks bleak for us.

Hey, wouldn't it be wild if mutant were mafia and he's framing Peace by using his investigate instead of his kill?
I mean, the only things making you guys think Peace is mafia is a scum's scumread and Mutant's investigation. A mislynch would kill the town's majority.
