Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

1) Create new post, fill in contents, like normal.
2) Click Submit
3!) While loading bar hasn't finished loading, cancel the new page load with the Times Square (that will be replaced by the reload button)
4) Click the submit button again.
Noticeable: The submit button doesn't react.
I'm on Safari on my Mac, so I can't argue for Firefox or chrome users, is this is also happening for you?
Solution that will fix it:
5) Click preview.
6) Click submit (If it doesn't work upon having made steps 2-4, click preview again to make it working).
Obviously this problem makes users go through more pages, loading each of them in order, and instead of 20 seconds loading time for bad people, it'll be 2 minutes (as you render the post in the preview, and then in the post).
I had some great (long) topics forever gone like that.
why even clckthe X button?

It's to prevent double posts from happening. No way to know if the post actually went through since you stopped it before the response came in. I think the cost is worth the benefits of preventing people from smashing the Submit button 50 times.

Submit button is pretty bad on mobile. The text covers it.

There was a discussion about that a while ago, I think the conclusion was that it's a bug in the mobile version of Chrome, it doesn't happen on iOS.

Okay. Sad. Because my internet connection clearly gets disadvantages from it.
