Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: So is this down time an update?

When updates happen, the game doesn't just go offline. It stays up and displays a 'Game has been updated, please refresh your browser' message.

So, I don't see why make assumptions that it means there's an update.

Yeah this doesn't really serve as reliable proof...

Why is EE down? (I know I shouldn't be posting here, but I think it relates to this topic???)

Re: So is this down time an update?

I'm guessing devs couldn't pay the server host thingy again.

When has this ever happened ?

I always thought the revenue from EE always, by far, surpassed the cost of running the game.

Re: So is this down time an update?

How expensive is it to own a game? But anyway for my computer, when there was an update every week it would not load for a while, and then finally run and then there would be an update.

Also, I noticed, the last time this happened, the red coins (orange coins, normal coins, whatever they are) were not as slow as they use to be (or that could have just been a coincidental update for my computer or something).   So the only way to find out, is patience.

Well actually, I just heard rumours from last time it was down, so might not be true.

Re: So is this down time an update?

He's always on Kongregate, if anyone would like to talk to him. But, most of the stuff that there is to find out has already been found out and posted on some thread. From what I know, he doesn't work on EE anymore, and has a job that has nothing to do with games.

EDIT: I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Brian Meidell (apparently Mrvoid) has a weird description on his Cape Copenhagen (aka space time foam) page.

Brian Meidell's Description wrote:

Brian was a technical swiss army knife, who worked on web development, AAA games, middleware, web games, casual games and indie games. Now he just uses Excel and says “synergy” a lot, the poor sod.

I just found it weird.

MrVoid isn't Brian Meidell. MrVoid is Martin Traberg. Brian Meidell is the owner of Cape.net (formerly SpaceTimeFoam) and is currently in charge. However, I do believe that Chris Benjaminsen still has access to modify the game, since he obviously has access to the PlayerIO control panel(s).
-
The downtime for the game is safe to assume, caused by one of PlayerIO's many faults.
If anyone is wondering, to host Everybody Edits on PlayerIO's own plan would cost more than $500 monthly.
So, $16 a day.

Yeah but that doesn't mean it's completely random, it must have some significance to something.

Well, EE is back up and no updates. I guess it's safe to say the game is only heading further and further downhill from here?
