That seems like it might have a lot of the same nightmare-ish stuff as a regular WYSIWYG editor. Idk, maybe it'd be better. Might make it easier to spot syntax errors if nothing else.

this isnt a code editor after all
i dont think ive seen this used on any forum and im happy with the current state of affairs
perhaps it would be sufficient to highlight tags that are used incorrectly, aka quote without /quote or img without /img, etc etc aka etc, make that tag red or highlight it (with blue selection)

You can enable/disable this of course.

im in just make it yellow as anatoyl suggested and make them red if error
