Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Bug with BBCODE ERROR MESSAGE

1

DISCLAIMER: If anybody here wants to start crying "What? You could just have said: ...", leave. If you support the Forums and/or Diff and want to contribute, stay.

The error message have been were strange working around with tags in the form ABAB where each letter is start and end of the tag.

Example:

[center][quote][/center][/quote]

Error: [center] was found without a matching [/center]

As you can clearly see the forums don't seem to recognise that the tag is closed, just used wrong. It confused users who are trying to find the opening and closing of the center tag. While

[quote][center][/quote][/center]

Expected Error with the Pattern of above: [quote] was found without a matching [/quote]

Displayed Error: [center] was found without a matching [/center]

Is the center tag brocken??

It would be good to say something like this:

The pattern [center] ... [quote] ... [/center] ... [/quote] is not allowed.

OR

The [center] tag cannot be opened and closed from different sides of a quote.

1:
Your inconsistency isn't really one - it just looks at the first BBCode tag you opened and sees that the appropriate closing tag was not correct.

2:
Formatting is obviously important. Sure it could just remove whitespace, but I don't see how this is an issue.
