Don't really see the point - forums are about discussions, this won't drive any discussion. What are your intentions?

It's so people don't bump posts from a long time ago but they can still reply. (Wouldn't know why you would reply to something old or how you'd even get there)

I don't think this is very usefull because topics are closed with a reason, such as being old and not being used anymore. If you reply but no one gets notified of it with a blue dot or it going up, what's the point in posting a reply in the first place? It's not like someone clicks it and goes to the last page for no reason because they don't see anyone posted it.
